I rescued and raised my dog, Denver, since he was a puppy using positive reinforcement methods from several licensed and accredited dog trainers. My wife teaches Animal Behavior at IU so I stay up-to-date on the latest behavioral research. I'm very caring and will ensure your dog has a comfortable stay :)

My family had to travel to California for a funeral and that unfortunately meant leaving our pup in Bloomington, but she couldn’t have been in better hands. I got regular updates, including the cutest pictures, and never once worried about her well-being.
Had an excellent experience with Derek taking care of our dog. Communication with Derek was easy and timely. I received regular updates (with pictures of a happy dog!). Will definitely hope he is available again when we have to travel.
Derek welcomed Sadie into his home smoothly. Provided regular updates on her adaptation to a new environment. Picking her up was efficient. When I need care for Sadie again I will request him for sure. Thank you Derek for your care and compassion toward my puppy.
Derek showed particular interest in wanting to make sure I thought his home had enough space for my dog and that the arrangement would work for him (it did, and it did). My dog did well with him throughout the weekend, and he was amenable to my somewhat flexible timeline for pickup. I would leave my dog with him again.

I have a fully fenced yard and a doggy door for small dogs, like mine, to freely go into the yard and return to the house. I also will go out into the yard during the day to play fetch and get my dog to run around. Dogs are welcome on the furnite and bed. I will send pictures throughout the stay to let you know how your dog is doing and I'm very responsive to any inquiries.

I work from home full time with lots of breaks during my day to let my dog out and run him around the yard. We can also go on short walks around the neighborhood in the mornings and evenings.
