Pet care experience
I'm fascinated by the bond and connection dogs and humans can have and I'm passionate about providing training, care, love, and play to dogs to help foster that connection. There is something special in each dog and a personality if you look close enough. I've been around dogs my entire life and gained an ability to relate to and train a variety of dogs over time. In addition to helping care for your dogs, I can also aid in training if needed. If it is just love and play they need, I'm all for it too! My schedule varies but I mostly work from early morning to mid- to late-afternoon. I know my schedule the day before so last-minute requests may be easy to work with. I always have Fridays and Saturdays off as well.

Derek has been and is wonderful with my dogs. He is patient and caring with them. Good with special instructions involving schedules, feeding and medication. He’s never met a dog he doesn’t say hello to, even those in passing cars or in the other side of the walk. He takes great care in cleanliness and picks up after dog to insure neighbors, dog parents and non, have no complaints with the critters in his care. Reliable and conscientious, Derek will treat you and your pet well.
Derek is a fantastic dog sitter! He does an exceptional job and I can say that cause I have 3 very stubborn huskies. Not only was he able to take care of and walk them with ease but he has a knack for his training abilities, hehelped them learn commands while I was out. He assisted with some grooming, their medications, and even showed up to assist when I had an unexpected litter. A husky owner couldn't have asked for better care of my pups.
Derek is the sweetest puppy daddy!! He loves his like they are children and will love yours just the same! If you have concerns about leaving your baby with him, rest assured he is completely capable and sweet to boot. He is also extremely professional, and cool under pressure! His other job keeps him on his toes!!
Derek was a roommate for two years. He was always willing and capable of watching my Maltese. She loved him! She’s a spoiled pup and he did everything I asked and more. He took her on walks, to dog parks and even bathed her when she would roll in mud which is inevitable with her. I trust him to take great care of her. Plus his dogs are way more spoiled than mine.

I don't have any breed preferences but I would like to know if certain behaviors are present in your dog - examples like, is your dog fixed and do they mark with urine on furniture, walls, or other things in the house? How is your dog around other dogs, small and large? Are there any behaviors that your dog exhibits that point to aggression or distrust in strangers (not a deal breaker, just need a warning)?
A typical day
I have a few parks within walking distance or short drive from my house that I like to take my pups to for longer walks. There is also an off-leash dog park down the street where I like to go as well. There, I've helped a few owners train their dogs while playing with mine! At the house we will play tug of war, fetch, chase, and wrestle on the floor like I'm one of the pack. If they just want to cuddle up on the couch, that can be arranged as well! Currently I can not have a dog stay with me but am willing to make frequent visits to or stay at your home.
