Pet care experience
My wife and I are both huge dog and cat lovers. We have our own little furry family (of two cats and a small dog), but love engaging with other peoples dogs, as pet sitters and volunteers. (We also both volunteer at a local animal rescue in Beverly Hills.) We have cared for young pets, but also older pets, who may be a little stuck in their ways and need a little extra care. We love walking - and would be great companionship for your dog or cat. My availability is very flexible as my software development day job allows me to work remotely from my home- which allows for frequent walks and play time. Whether you need me for one walk or a week-long stay, your animals will be cared for like they are my own.

Derek has been around dogs all his life. He has always gone out of his way to interact with dogs in any environment talking to people learning about the dog and the breed. He is a true dog/pet lover. Derek is responsible ,dependable and loves playing with dogs. He will give your family member the highest of attention. I would trust him to always do the right thing in caring for your pet. Derek is an amazing and trustworthy pet sitter. I have had him watch both my dog (a yellow lab mix), and two cats, (sometimes the whole brood together), and have nothing but great things to say about him. We all know cleaning a litter box isn't a blast, but I came home to a stretch-less home, which I know is because he did his due diligence in cleaning. Howie, my lab, loves him - and I appreciate the great photos showing that reflecting my pets are in great care even when I have to be away.

I do not have any breed preferences.. I have dog friends that are pitbulls and those that are chihuahuas. At the dog rescue, we do our best to not let our rescue dogs meet and greet with other dogs, (cross to the other side of the street, etc..) but would just want to know if the dog has any leash aggression, or can go to the dog park. For cats, if I should expect him or her to come out and say hello, or if he or she will probably hide when a stranger is in the home.
A typical day
Activities that dogs will enjoy under our care are long local walks, with time to stop and smell the roses (or bushes, or trees..), with top of line poop-pick up, great scratches and excellent photography skills. Cats will enjoy the best litter box cleaning around, and snuggles if they choose to engage. Both animals will have excellent food service, based on instructions left by their owners.
