Pet care experience
I have had a dog in my household my entire life until last year and now we have cats (landlord doesn't allow full time dogs). I used to walk and care for dogs as side income from age 10-18, and I have missed having dogs in my life.

I've known Derek for a few years now and he has always been great with dogs and cats. We've had him care for our dog Hercules several times for up to a week and he's always done a great job. While he doesn't have a dog himself, he has two cats who are definitely living the good life. Derek will care for your pet like he would his own and I'd definitely recommend him.
Derek is exactly the kind of person you would want to take care of your pets: responsible, kind, and attentive. He has a way with dogs, and every dog he meets instantly feels comfortable around him. He has always had pets (whether it was dogs while growing up or cats now), so he has lots of experience loving and caring for animals. Leaving your pets with someone is always a bit scary, but you can rest easy knowing that your pet is in good hands with Derek. He recognizes that pets truly are part of the family, and he will treat your pets as his own. You can count on Derek to show up for appointments on time, follow all instructions, and give your pets the kind of love and care they deserve. I live in a house with a backyard and grassed areas nearby. I live with my girlfriend who also loves dogs. We are near McCullough trails and plenty of parks! We have two cats that are very shy around dogs but never violent.

The main things I would like to know are what the pet specifically likes and dislikes. I want to make sure the pet is at it's most comfortable when I am with it. I have no breed preferences, I like all pets from big to small.
A typical day
I really enjoy Hiking, and I would love to take the pets with me. However, I understand if you would prefer the walks to be a little less dirty. If your pets are good with others, I would go to a dog park. Other than that, I enjoy walking anywhere.

Availability
I work part time from home on a flexible schedule created by myself. I will be able to change my schedule whenever need be, and would really love to fill the down time with animals. I love meeting new animals, so a one time visit would be great. But I'd prefer to get long term customers to build relationships with pets and their owners.
