Pet care experience
Since the day I was born, my family has always had a dog, or 2! In my house, we don’t just treat dogs like animals, but rather as members of the family. I have had dogs as large as a Newfoundland and as small as an Australian Shepherd. Aside from my own dogs, I have experience with Pitbulls , Jack Russell’s, Schnauzers, Westies, Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers and many more. Any time I am at a friends house I will be the first one to sit on the floor and pet their dog or cat. I am a science teacher so I am extremely flexible, especially during the summer or on weekends. I am always eager to meet new pets and would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Derek couldn’t be any more dependable. I appreciated his flexibility as it applies to mine and my finances schedules. He is a caring person, and loves dogs. My pups felt super comfortable with him from the start. Highly recommend his services.
Derek is wonderful with my 7 year old orange tabby cat Brad! Whenever I’m away, I never hesitate to ask Derek to be our pet sitter. He is super sweet with Brad - feeds him, cleans his litter, plays with him and simply hangs out just so Brad has company. Derek is also kind enough to grab my mail/packages while I’m out. Highly recommend!
I hired Derek to play and walk my puppy for a few hours, a couple days a week. Derek was responsive, communicative and super easy to work with. I recently had hip surgery and couldn't walk my puppy Zeus so I hired Derek to do so. He showed up promptly and was super respectful of my home, he even asked if I needed help with anything else. Zeus slept all afternoon after Derek dropped him off at home. I would highly recommend Derek to anybody who is looking for a good dog walker.

A typical day
With dogs in my care I try to get them outside as much as possible to get fresh air and exercise. Depending on the weather, I will always take the dogs for a walk and maybe even a hike depending on the conditions.

Availability
I walk my dog for 2.5 miles a day so that he has adequate exercise and has a healthy lifestyle and is happy. It’s important that he is in shape.
