I’m a huge fan of our four legged friends, big and small. In fact, I’ve become a great uncle to quite a few who’ve been coming to me for years. What helps me form such strong and longtime bonds with them (and their owners) is that I work from home, so between me and my roommate your dog will rarely be left alone. We are very comfortable with all breeds, temperaments and sizes. Dogs also love lounging in my large, sunny one-bedroom on the Lower East Side. The big living room windows get southern exposure and bring in tons of light over a wrap-around sofa that they can sun on. I also have a bright bedroom with a low-level platform king-size bed that the little ones can walk right on to. One more plus about Uncle Dennis: I love being outside. Living by the East River is great because it’s an excellent place for me to take dogs for long walks, and often, so that they sleep good. And when they sleep well so do I – so we all win. It’s close to the Willamsburg Bridge in a complex with lots of trees and grass near the East River Park and Thompson Square Park. About this sitter: I’m fun-loving and athletic. I love art and film. I'm also an organized take-charge person. Professionally, after owning and running restaurants for 17 years I’ve turned to fine dining catering. That allows me to spend more quality time at home and with my furry friends. As one who enjoys hosting company, my home is set up for maximum comfort for all guests, human and animal. I love to pamper and hangout with dogs – either at my home or yours. I use the computer for my business so I can travel anywhere. Why I love dog sitting I grew up on Long Island in a big house with a big family. We always had two dogs and two cats at any given time plus whatever we could bring into the house: turtles, rabbits, fish, you name it. Most of our dogs were Labradors, German Shepherds, and Boxers and were my constant companions. Meet my pets It’s actually good that I don’t have any pets right now, as that could lead to competition with guest dogs. If at times I take more than one dog, I socialize them so they get along well. About my yard I live in an apartment complex with lots of trees and grass and a fenced in backyard. It’s close to Williamsburg Bridge, near the East River park and Thompson Square park.
