Your Daily Dogmom

Pet care experience

I live in a cozy place with yard access for the dogs to run around if they choose - or stay inside if they're couch potatoes. They sleep inside wherever they feel comfortable. I've had dog companions for almost twenty years and can't imagine a life without them. I have two now: a midsize cruiser called Ollie and a peppy little girl called Ivy. Your dog(s) will get lots of love and attention. About this sitter: I'm a dogmom who works from home, which makes me able to give my dogs - and yours - constant attention as well as accommodate their needs and schedule. I got my first dog in 1994 and have had at least one ever since, along with the occasional foster dog with medical issues or a lost neighborhood stray in need of a hug and a warm bed for the night. I'm very responsible: your dog will be safe and happy here. I love having my dogs around and would welcome yours as another member of my pack. Why I love dog sitting I got my first dog, Gus, a lab mix in 1994. At the time, I lived in a duplex next door to a dog sitter, which meant Gus had a lively social life and I got to help out with the dogs when I wasn't at work. I've had the chance to help out several lost or stray dogs in the neighborhood over the years and there's nothing better than getting a dog back home where it's loved. Over the years I've had four dogs (three rescues), each special in their own way. I can't imagine a home without at least one dog by my side. Meet my pets I have two dogs: Ollie, a Pointer mix rescue, is nine years old and Ivy, a Jack Russell mix rescue, is almost five. I suspect that Ollie thinks he's a little dog too, because little dogs are his favorites. About my yard I have a large back yard that's fenced in and secure. I go out there with the dogs -- they're never left unsupervised. My experience administering medication I'm used to giving pills to dogs and once fostered a diabetic doberman that needed twice-daily insulin injections.

Denise is the best! My dog jumps out of the car and runs straight into her house.

Denise is the best! Pepper is home after another great stay with Denise and her sweet resident dogs Ollie and Ivy. Denise has always been so good with Pepper, (and with us! sending cute pictures for peace of mind!), and Pepper always comes home happy and well-adjusted. We deeply appreciate Denise's wonderful care!

Denise is great with my dogs! I can tell they get a lot of exercise and attention! This is my second time having her watch them, and I look forward to sending them to her again.

Information Denise S. would like to know about your pet

Ivy is a small dog and Ollie thinks he is one too. They both get on well with small dogs of all breeds. I'd like the dog to be housebroken and want to know if the dog is socialized and okay to take to parks where they'll meet other dogs.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I like to take the dogs on leashed walks through the neighborhood and to parks such as Clover Park or Virginia Ave Park in Santa Monica and Glen Alla Park in Marina Del Rey. I also visit the dog parks at Playa Vista. I never let a dog off leash unless the dog park is securely fenced in and I am able to see the dog at all times. Your dog's sleeping arrangement You're welcome to bring a dogbed if you think that will make your dog more comfortable. Otherwise, the dogs are allowed to sleep where they like in the living room or in the bedroom. I have lots of spare blankets if your dog likes to make itself a nest. I recommend leaving a T-shirt or blanket that smells like home to help your pet feel reassured. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home, so I'm around most of the day. My rule is that if I need to go out and leave the dogs, I can't be gone more than two hours. Whenever possible the dogs come with me. They get at least two outings a day and can play in the yard as much as they like.
