Experienced & Loving Dog Sitter
Pet care experience
I was raised in a household with a rescue mystery mix, 4 ginger toms, 8 rabbits and over the years I’ve done pet sitting for cats, dogs, terrapins and sugar gliders and spent two years fostering cats until they found their forever home. We’re used to giving pets that stay with us a lot of love, and spoiling them so they get their own little holiday! Our house has me and my fiancé Joe and has no pets or kids, is smoke free and we have a small fenced garden out back, with Beckett Park nearby for walks and exercise. We’d love to have your pet come stay with us and make them welcome and comfortable while you’re away.
Reviews
Boarding with Denica was super easy. Beau had a great time and would happily stay with them again
Denica did a wonderful job looking after Chessie and I would recommend her to other people looking to have a sitter. I hope to have her sit for Chessie again. Chessie enjoyed staying at Denica's. Lots of play sessions and gentle brushing as Chessie had recently been neutered. Kept me up to date with lots of pictures and videos. Chessie settled in really well. Thank you.
I can't recommend Denica highly enough as a cat sitter. She has looked after our two energetic cats multiple times, including a holiday stint of over a week. Denica clearly has extensive experience with cats and always treats them with the same love and care that they get at home. She has an intuitive approach to understanding cat behaviour and needs. When pet sitting our cats, Denica spends plenty of time playing with them, which they really enjoy. She understands their personalities so well and knows how to keep them stimulated and content. Overall, Denica provides reliable, thoughtful, trustworthy care for cats when their owners are away. We completely trust leaving them in her and her partner Joe's capable hands. For a sitter who will treat your cats like part of her own family, I can't recommend Denica highly enough!
Denica has been great with our dog, developing a great bond that's been really great to see. She is kind and caring, and obviously loves animals. I would definitely recommend her, you can be assured your pet will be very well looked after.

I have a small fenced garden for them to get some air, and a three bed house for just the two of us. There’s plenty of space and any pets are welcome to sit in the furniture. We don’t have a crate but happy to crate if you bring yours along. Our house is quite old fashioned and in need of updating so we do have some walls bare of wallpaper and the rest but nothing dangerous or structural at all. We’re happy to move ornaments or make changes spending on what you think would be useful or welcoming to your pet.

Information Denica S. would like to know about your pet
For all pets I’ll need their vet’s address and phone number, whether they have insurance, and if they’re on any medications or any other health issues to be aware of. For dogs it’s important I’d know if they have recall, any known stressors, whether they get along with other dogs and kids, and if they can be trusted off lead. For cats, any stressors or behaviours they expect from you (to sleep in between you and your partner at night for example), and any calming behaviours that might help them settle in; do they like cat tv on the iPad? Do they like sitting at a window looking out at the world? Do they avoid contact or dislike loud josies etc
A typical day
I’d get to know a dog or cat first by playing with them in the house a little and giving them treats for good behaviour. Once we’ve made a bond and I’ve checked their recall, it’s out for a walk and fetch in Beckett Park and Batcliffe Wood very nearby. Once they’re a little tired out of we’ll come home and cuddle up on the sofa, depending on the dog we might be able to play hide and seek in the house or okay with some of their toys for treats. As for cats, all contact is on their terms haha but if their diet allows then a bunch of treats, caught in midair or hidden in toys, works wonders for letting them know they’re welcome. I also tend to switch on our electric blanket on the sofa and that usually brings them over for biscuit making time and a cuddle.

Denica can host
Availability
I work full time but routinely work from home 2 to 3 days a week and take daily walks around nearby Beckett Park and think hosting a pet could fit in nicely to my routine. I can update my work days from home weekly but they’re usually Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
