Hi there! My name is Delaney. I have a bachelor’s degree in Anthrozoology from Carroll College as well as extensive experience with animals through my degree and previous jobs. I have worked professionally in the pet care industry for over 5 years in dog daycare, boarding, and training capacities. Through these jobs, I cared for multiple dogs of all breeds and specific needs. I have experience in preparing meals, administering medication, training dogs, walking dogs, and other general care through my education and work history. I also fostered a shelter dog through my college courses, learning to train dogs and ultimately finding my foster pup his fur-ever home with a loving family. Delaney is a top choice for your animal companion needs while you’re away - she has a background in animal science, keeps you updated with photos and the journal log feature of the Rover app and is very responsive. I appreciated that she came the weekend before my trip to pick up the house key and to meet my cat too!

Typically I will meet you and your pet(s) before committing to a solo drop in at your home. We can discuss any specific details that you would like accommodated for your pet(s) then. I treat any animal under my care like my own and love to create a rapport between myself and my client’s pets.

I would like to know if they have any behavioral issues that could be a safety concern for me or others (I.e. reactivity towards strangers, running away, escape artists, etc). I have worked with dogs that have various behavioral problems, I just need to know ahead of time any issues as it can take some dogs longer to warm up than others.
A typical day
I love to take dogs on hikes, play games with them, do short training sessions, and more! I tailor my visits around what you would like me to accomplish with your dog as well as what your dog prefers (I.e. some dogs like fetch and others do not).
