Pet care experience
My family has owned dogs since I was born and I’ve developed a true love for the unconditional love they provide! Since I was 12 I have helped walk, feed, and care for my own dogs, neighbors and friends dogs and other pets (rabbits, cats, etc.) and it has always been a favorite experience of mine. I live away from my family home now and miss my dogs every day, so I hope to fill that hole by helping others with their pets when they need it. I also have experience with reactive dogs as my old rescue dog Dexter experienced fear based reactivity from his experiences before we welcomed him into our home. Because of this I understand that some pets need extra love and respect for their boundaries, and will always do my best to advocate for them. I am an active person and love getting outside for walks and always hope to provide the same love for animals that they provide for us!

Delaney helped care for my three dogs (two akitas and a goldendoodle) when I was unable to spend a lot of time with them during a busy time in my life. She made sure they were fed and taken care of and was great at communicating updates while she spent time with them.

In our family home I care for our dogs by providing lots of mental and physical activities such as walks, games such as fetch and puzzles. In previous clients homes, I have always tried to balance time out walking and exploring while also providing love and entertainment in the comfort of the home.
Information Delaney K. would like to know about your pet
Some information I believe is important to know ahead of time is relevant history regarding a dogs health, potential reactivity, boundaries they are comfortable with, and what kinds of situations the dog is versus is not comfortable in. These situations may include but are not limited to whether a dog needs medications, doesn’t like kids or other dogs, or may need some extra time warming up to people.
A typical day
There are a lot of things I like to do with the dogs I watch!! With the dogs I have seen before we love spending time going on hikes and walks in places away from a large population. For example, I love taking the pets I watch to dog safe parks and trails in the cuyahoga area. A long leisurely stroll in the neighborhood is also a common occurrence to complement higher energy activities.

Availability
I am currently a full time student and athlete at Kent State University and have a busy schedule, however I have some days with more free time which I’d love to spend helping others with caring for their beloved best friends. I have multiple teammates with dogs and it is a great joy of mine to be able to go on walks with them and spend time cuddling and playing with their dogs!
