Care For Your Four-Legged Friends!
Pet care experience
I grew up in an animal-loving home where my family fostered and adopted many animals for years including cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, birds and more. We also took in disabled animals as well (example: Those with only one eye, three legs, etc.) I also shadowed veterinarians as a pre-vet student during my first two years of college where I have fortunately gained the experience of seeing what it is like behind the scenes at a veterinary hospital. This experience has enabled me to enhance my animal care-taking abilities.

Deeva did an amazing job walking (and running!) my VERY ACTIVE young dog. Many days they walked almost 2 miles in the hour walk. Deeva always came with treats and water, and kept me up to date with pictures. She even handled it calmly when they were chased by a territorial cat in my neighborhood and my poor dog flipped out! Definitely recommend her.
Deeva is amazing. She communicates often and we can’t thank her enough for her weekly visits with our pup.

Although I do not offer a boarding service (since I live in an apartment), there are various ways I can help take care of your animals when I visit your home. I am comfortable with brushing your pets if they have long coats or are shedding. I can administer your pets' medication orally with food if they take any (and I just need to know if they have any dietary restrictions/allergies so that your pet is as comfortable as possible). I will always make sure that your pets' food and water dishes are filled when need be. Lastly, I am always down to play with your pets as I know exercise is an important aspect of their lives (Given what age they may be, if they are older I will provide them with more pets instead!) From my personal experience with my pets, I know that some animals can get anxious and upset when their owners leave them, so if your animals need someone to be present while you are away, I am also happy to hang and chill out with them while you are gone! :) Moreover, I bring a backpack with me when I am walking dogs which includes extra doggy poop bags, extra leashes, a water bottle, and treats (Only given if I have your permission). Though having fun with your dog is very important to me, my first priority is ensuring your dog's health and safety are accommodated first. It is summertime, and with summer comes lots of heat! Before I take any dogs on walks, I like to ensure that the pavement outside is not too hot for them to walk on by testing it with my hand. If I cannot hold my hand on the pavement for more than 5-7 seconds, then I know it is too hot for your dogs to walk on it, and I will have to take them on walks through the grass or somewhere nice and shady!

To make the experience with your pets as comfortable as possible for them, I would like to know more about their behavior (For example: How they behave around cars, other people, children, etc.) This will help me ensure not only your dog's safety but also the safety of others around. Moreover, I would like to know if your dog has any triggers such as seeing other dogs, squirrels, and more. This will help me to navigate your dog in case I need to direct them on a different path to prevent any unnecessary uprisings that could occur.
A typical day
In order to tire your dogs out, I enjoy taking them on long, strenuous walks! If there is a nearby park or a river that I can bring them to, I think those places would be the best for your dog to smell new scents and explore! Where I take the dogs really depends on the weather. As I mentioned in the safety section of my profile, if the pavement is too hot for the dogs to walk on, I will take them somewhere shadier or where there is grass to protect their paw pads. To keep things interesting for the dogs, I might slightly switch up the routes I take with them to keep them active and interested!

Availability
I work remotely, so I am flexible in terms of taking breaks to care for your pet(s)! I am able to stop in, feed your pets, and take them out for bathroom breaks or a quick walk. On weekends, I can offer more of my time to pet-sit and take your dogs on long strenuous walks! I enjoy exercising, so walking for long periods of time does not bother me in the slightest.
