Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner since childhood. I grew up with German Shepherds and a nutty cockapoo named, Buddy. I have owned cats since college (2001). I have been entrusted with several animals for various care arrangements by friends, family, and acquaintances for many years. Since starting with Rover in September, I have had the pleasure of three doggy boarding guests. Two stays were for 10 days. Each have been an enjoyable experience. My son Lincoln, is very kind and is a great playmate for the pups. He's a gentle four-year-old but the pups have loved his energy. I have been trusted to drop in to one home. The two pups were sweet and gentle beasts. Large newfoundland's. I was respectful of the homeowner's personal property and avoided areas of the home that were not related to the task at hand. This is your personal space - I'm only there to do as instructed and take good care of your pups. Finally, I have a doggy day care client who comes regularly twice per week. Typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is a sweet, smaller, spaniel/poodle mix that is great with my cats. The owner says she is also great with other dogs. While I've been lucky to care for healthy pets thus far, I am comfortable administering care to a pup who needs it and have a relationship with a vet in the area in the unlikely event that one would be needed.

Deborah was absolutely wonderful taking care of Charly for two weeks she sent us pictures of him an on Valentine’s Day had Charly send us a Valentine’s picture. Deborah is an amazing dog sitter. From our meet and greet to now doing weekly daycare, Deborah does such a great job with Mabel. She asks lots of questions to make sure she meets our needs. She is so friendly and welcoming. Her son is such a sweetie, too! Deborah is great about communicating and super flexible with last minute schedule changes. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Deborah was flexible, and took wonderful care of our dog for over a week. It was great to know that he was in such good care while we were away.
Deborah was AMAZING! She made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog there for the weekend. Her son played so well with Foxy and I know Foxy enjoyed the extra attention too. She has a great home and yard (huge and fenced!) for hosting. She sent photos as well as updated me on how everything was going along the way. I was running a little late for drop off, but she was very flexible, which was very helpful considering my schedule. Foxy was so happy and calm when I picked her up, I could tell she had a wonderful time! There's no one else I'd rather have watching my little girl while I'm away. I would recommend Deborah to any dog owner in a heartbeat!

I have a fenced-in yard. No runaways yet. :-) There is a park within walking distance however, in winter months it's more likely that the pup will exercise from fetch in the backyard. I also have stairs to throw the ball up and down on nasty days. I have big windows facing the backyard that keeps the attention on my cats and doggy guests, too. There are lots of critters to watch. On Mondays and Fridays, my son and mother/father in law will also be at the house for extra attention. I have two cats and at least one other dog for doggy day care twice per week. The house is large enough that everyone will have enough space if any of my doggy guests become anxious. I do not watch more than two dogs per day at a time. Also, I live in a smoke-free/tobacco-free home. Not judging those who smoke but some may prefer that environment for their animals.

Any breed is welcome. I will want to know how he/she lets me know if they need to go outside and what noises, people, or other things might frighten or bother them. Also, I have two cats and other dogs are likely to be around. I'll need to understand how your pup does with other animals.
A typical day
Winter: On nicer days of 35 degrees or above, I'll toss the ball in the backyard a couple of times per day. It's a little too cold for walks. :) Spring/Summer/Nice Fall Days: We have a lovely neighborhood with a nice playground and park within walking distance. It has a big field if your pup enjoys playing fetch. I have a large fenced in backyard for the same activity if your dog is a flight risk. We also enjoy relaxing on the couch for movie nights if your pup is a snuggler.

Availability
Currently, I'm working from home full-time and in the evenings as I own my own consulting business. My son attends preschool and day care until late afternoon three days per week. I do leave the home for errands and meetings but I schedule my own time and am very flexible. If there is a need to be away from home for a long stretch of time, I let the pet owner know this.
