I have had dogs and a multitude of other animals since I can remember. At age 12 I was introduced to dog shows and at 16 started my own dog grooming business. I also began to train dogs with Dauphin Dog Training Club, where I worked as an instructor. At age 21, I purchased a Standard Poodle puppy named Tara, who became the model for my grooming business and my constant companion and best friend. I also showed Tara in AKC Obedience shows where she received her CDX Title. Since Tara, I have had both dogs and cats and they all have been my furbabies. Throughout the years, I also began to do rescues of mostly dogs, but there have been a few kitties as well. I have had to do training with the rescues to be able to re-home them successfully. I have had to do everything from crate training, housebreaking and basic obedience to rehabbing from prior abuses. The big Shepherd mix you see in my picture is one of my rescues. I knew from the first moment I saw him that he was going to be my rescue and My Best Friend. We became certified as a therapy team and enjoyed going into hospitals, nursing homes and day cares for people with developmental disabilities. After working most of my life as a nurse, I have now moved to the Lewisburg, PA area and would like to devote more time and energy to my passion for animals. I want to continue putting my love of animals into assisting people who have to be away from their furry family members. I hope to help by taking the furbabies out for walks and providing play time, and home care visits. I understand how important it is to know your furbaby is happy and safe when you cannot be right there to do it yourself.
