Attentive, Energetic and Kind

Pet care experience

I'm known to notice subtle queues animals give me, in other words, I'm aware that they are communicating with us all the time about what their wants and needs are and try to adjust my care and presence accordingly. I cared for animals almost my entire life. As a child, I had hamsters, frogs, fish, birds, dogs, and cats. I had cats I was personally responsible for as a child and I've taken care of both tiny breed dogs and large breed dogs. I have a plethora of experience taking care of puppies and now I diligently care for my senior dog. I'm fairly athletic so if your dog would love a jog around the neighborhood I would be overjoyed to provide that. If your dog is very food driven I can teach him new tricks and commands. If you have a puppy I can make progress on their loose leash walking and various basic commands. If you have a senior dog I know how to give medications and even do mild massages/stretching since my own dog needs that daily along with his at-home physical therapy. I've raised my German Shepherd for 9 years, as many people know, a German Shepherd is not ideal for a pet parent's first dog, and while it has been a steep learning curve I've gathered a treasure trove of knowledge for caring for working breed dogs. My experience training/raising/socializing my GSD makes me capable of handling most dogs. TLDR: Nothing makes me happier than a walk with a dog or just sitting quietly reading to your cat and I have a solid history of being capable of handing most of anything.

I wish I could give 10 stars. If you are looking for someone who will love your dogs like you do, it’s going to be Deborah. She is outright amazing, communicative, trustworthy, and patient. It was our first time using rover and we didn’t know what to expect. She went above and beyond for our furry family. She took care of our home and 3 dogs. We have one puppy and one dog who has severe separation anxiety. She knew exactly how to handle them tenderly while we were out. We came home and our dogs learned new tricks! They are sad she is gone now lol, but not for long! We are deeply thankful for you making our experience special. We will be rebooking Deborah for any future getaways! Tata for now 🫶🐾❤️🫶🐾

Deborah was so great with my little jack! She went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable leaving my dog for an evening. Received multiple photos and long messages, she described jacks personality to a t! It was super convenient she lives in my complex and familiar with the area. Definitely will book with her in the future! Thank you so much Deborah!

If there's anyone you want taking care of your dog it's Deborah. She taught my mom's two tiny Chihuahua-mixed dogs to shake paws, so they'll shake your hand if you ask them. Whenever we visit my family's home she always volunteers to take the little babies out on a walk or take care of them by giving them medication or clipping their claws. She genuinely loves animals of all sizes, you can rest assured that your dogs will be in good hands.

Deborah has owned and cared for a German Shepherd since he was a puppy, I watched her little Leon grow into a happy (but needy) ball of fur that was always ready to play and have a good walk. Even through difficulties he's had, she stuck it out and molded him into the perfect gentleman who is always well groomed, happy, and playful despite being almost a decade old. There is no one I would trust more to handle a dog than her and I doubt there are many out there that she can't handle thanks to her day-to-day life with Leon.

Safety, trust & environment

In a client's home, I intend to make sure the living environment is safe and reasonably clean so your loved one is comfortable, this means making sure rooms are a good temperature, water bowls are refreshed and puppy pads or cat litters are refreshed In the client's home, I also intend to provide the amount of companionship and mental stimulation that your loved one is comfortable with. If they're a low energy senior who is a bit skittish I don't mind just dropping treats and building warmth up slowly. If they are a higher energy animal, such as a kitten, that would usually entail some kind of ball chasing and whatever physical touch they seem to enjoy. Of course, building this understanding and trust in our interactions can take at a few minutes to a few days depending on the individual. Mental stimulation may look like teaching your fur baby new commands/tricks or giving puzzles during feeding times (such as putting kibble in towels for them to unravel). The possibilities for interactions are really endless, I like to take photos of any pets I take care of and send them to their pet parents, and you can opt-in for a quick summary from me every time I visit of how they're doing and what we did during our time together. If I notice any physical alignments or their behavior seems off from normal you can expect me to send photos and update the family as quickly as possible.

I'm a fulltime senior at UCI. So other than studying data science and caring for my own senior dog I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. This means most days I have a few hours to burn to either provide companionship for your fur baby or drop in and make sure they're as comfortable as possible while their family is away.
