Pet care experience
Both myself and my husband love animals and dogs in particular. My husband has cared for horses, dogs (Doberman,Lurcher,Spaniel,Labrador and terriers) and cats in the past and for the last 8 years we have been enjoying our wonderful friendly, sociable, Cockapoo Dougal, who is just a delight. He is well balanced ,happy and accepting of other dogs, albeit a little excitable at first. We enjoy walking him daily and would enjoy the companionship of another dog being with us. We would see this as an integral part of your dogs stay with us, being mindful of course of your preferences and guidance around how best to manage your pet during the walk. We would hope to meet your dog prior to their stay if possible and would be happy to receive detailed guidance and instructions around their routine and day to day care. We want your dog to be happy and the same for you too. We would be happy to have regular reassuring contact with you whilst you are away if desired. We know what its like to miss Dougal when we are on holiday and a photograph or a text/call can make all the difference. We are both at home all day and have good availability. Our time will be dedicated to making your pet happy and comfortable during their stay. Hopefully they may become a regular visitor.

Ronnie had the best time with Shane and Debbie. They kept us constantly updated with messages and photos which meant we could enjoy our holiday knowing he was safe, well cared for and loved. We would definitely ask them to have him again.

Rosie had the absolute best time with Debbie and Shane. They treated her like one of their family and she and their lovely dog Dougal were best friends throughout. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

We have a secure 6ft fenced back garden with a secure high 6ft gate to the front. Having a dog ourselves we are very mindful of safety. We have a front door which opens to a large parking area before meeting the road area. The front door is separated by a hallway door which would always be closed before opening the front door for additional security. Your dog would be on lead before leaving the house. We have a large hatchback car so can transport your dog safely as needed. Our dog is not crated but we can accommodate a crate if this is what your dog is used to. We are happy for your dog to sleep where he is most comfortable.

A typical day
We will go for walks in the park and different locations such as the coast if the owner is happy with this. We will play with toys in the house and garden. The dog will be encouraged to bring his own special toys and blanket to make them feel more secure

Availability
My husband works from home and I have recently taken early retirement so we can both be available as and when needed weekdays or weekends. We are an energetic couple who enjoy walking and playing with our dog and would offer the same care and attention to your dog whilst we are looking after them
