I've always had cats and dogs, and a variety of other pets, including a horse, fish, rodents, pet birds, and chickens. I have house sat for family and friends through out the years, providing companionship, feeding, walking, and medicines as needed. I also have 3 cats in my home, one of which is a special needs cat. He has Pica, which means he eats all sorts of non-edible things, like wood, string, and other items he finds. He requires a lot of monitoring, so that things that may harm him are put away. This cat, called Midnight, also has a Mega- colon, which means he has to have Mirilax every day, and to avoid wheat grass. He still has an occasional BM accident. One of our other cats, Tony, has eye drops that he needs for an occasional eye irritation he has. Our third cat Callie, is eleven years old. All of our cats are on wet food and are normal weight, after having weight problems in the past. I have also been a med tech, in mental health settings, for years. Medications and regimens for special needs are not a problem, and I am comfortable administering them, and following specifics. In house sitting or pet sitting, I always keep the home clean and tidy, and clean up after myself, and the pets.
