Happiness for EVERY family member

Pet care experience

Over my lifetime, I've cared for dogs, cats, horses, goats, fish, hamsters, turtles, cows, chickens, pigs, and even a lizard or two (under duress) Pets should be cared for like children. They need to be taught, entertained, challenged, rewarded and more than anything loved.

Safety, trust & environment

Pets should be the number one priority for a pet sitter. My phone would be used to take pet update photos if you like, but other than that, your pet will be getting my full attention during the time we spend together. I do believe that all pets should be on a leash when being walked in public and if they have a fenced yard to play in, I would never leave them outside alone in this day and age unless that's part of their daily routine. I'm comfortable with whatever works for you if they need to travel in a vehicle and if I were watching your pet at your house, I would have the pet inside with me most of the time unless they were not allowed in the house. I don't think it's good for a pet to get too many treats and I would not allow "people food" unless that's part of YOUR family's routine. I'm here to take care of YOUR pet and YOUR satisfaction would be my number one priority, so I would want to follow any safety instructions you already have in place for your pet. (I would prefer pets to have a harness instead of a collar so there's no chance that they would slip their collar or have their airway damaged from being walked with a leash and a pet carrier for traveling would be appreciated if your pet struggles with anxiety in the car).

Information Debbie A. would like to know about your pet

Please remember to bring/leave any favorite treat, toy, blanket, etc that makes your pet feel safe, and secure during their stay; especially on the first few visits. Meeting a new person can cause separation anxiety in some breeds which leads to aggression, shaking, or nausea and stomach issues. Open and honest communication about your pet's needs is greatly appreciated.

A typical day

Depends on the dog but my dogs have all liked activities that have me at their level, so playing tug or fetch on the floor with the littles all the way up to riding a bike, dancing and long throw fetch with the bigs. Most dogs love to play hide and seek, cuddle and have meaningful talks about their new love interest down the street who barks at them every time they walk by. ? I'd try anything to keep them active and happy.

I recently became a pet owner again to a 6-pound Malshi male named Georgie. He's a fun little guy who's learning fast and would love to have other animals to play with if the opportunity ever came up. However, he's already crate-trained and I'm able to leave the house for a few hours at a time to give love and attention to your pets as well. I will be switching to part-time work 5 am-9:30 am soon and therefore can be available from 10:15 am-9 pm M-F. Depending on the distance, I can come to your home multiple times per day, drop off or pick up, stay for an extended period of time or even stay overnight as needed f you're okay with Georgie coming along.
