I'm here to make your time away from your pet(s) as stress free as possible. I am a lifelong animal lover with lots of pet care experience. I have had cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. I have always struggled with feeling comfortable leaving my pets when I go on vacation. It is special when you can find someone that makes you feel confident that you can go away and not worry about your beloved pets. I can do that for you! I am insured and bonded through PROfur - Insurance for Pet Care Professionals! I am a very detail-oriented person who can follow your instructions and go above and beyond your requirements. I will care for your pets as if they are my own. I am retired and my husband works mostly from home. We share our home with a Border Terrier and 2 lovely tabby cats. Since I retired 8 years ago, I have been volunteering at the Ottawa Humane Society in a variety of programs: dog walking, Brightening Lives (a visitation program for seniors) and PAL (Pet Adoption Location). In addition, I have some experience fostering cats for the Ottawa Humane Society. The experience I gained through fostering vulnerable, young cats really added to my cat skills and knowledge. Home Visits: Cat Sitting - I have a lot of experience with shy cats and understand that they require patience and understanding in establishing trust with them. I will spend a minimum of 30 minutes with your cat feeding, changing water, scooping cat litter and playing and/or cuddling with them. I will care for 2 cats in the same home for the visit price. I can also bring in your mail, water your plants and do a security check on your house if you are away and require it. Home Visits: Doggy Potty Breaks - Does your dog need a potty break midday and some company. I can visit your dog in the middle of your work day to help the day go easier for the both of you. I can take them out for a brief walk, play fetch with them in the yard, give them a brush or cuddle. Want me to do a little basic obedience training with them? I can do that too! Home Visits: House Sitting - If you don't have a pet, but require a house sitter to keep in compliance with your home insurance policy, I can provide a daily check in which includes: bringing in your mail, taking out your garbage bins (and returning them), watering your plants (indoors and outdoors), checking on timers and checking all windows and doors. Whether you are going away for business or vacation or your pet needs a midday potty break, let me take your worry away and take care of your precious pets! ****Please note that for first time clients, I require a minimum booking of 3 visits/walks for the first booking. ****New client Meet & Greets will initially be held virtually via Zoom. During the virtual meeting, we will spend the time getting to know each other, talking about your pet(s), routines and behaviours, addressing questions and concerns, and determining if I'm a good fit for your needs. Subsequently a key pick-up and home walk through will be performed using physical distancing and mask protocols.
