I've been in the pet care business and rescue since 2006, I've fostered retired racing greyhounds, and I volunteer with KY humane. I especially love the senior pets and I'm great with shy dogs. I really enjoy casual training those young ones during walks to keep them consistent with you at home. With 17 years of experience, I've seen it all and problem solving is something I'm great at.

I just moved and needed to find a petsitter for my cats and new dog. I found Deanna / The Metro Pet on Yelp and she has been amazing helping me transition my very anxious dog to a new home, and giving me a break to run errands and what not. Not only has it been great for him to be around someone else (separation anxiety issues) but he’s always happy and mellow after their walks! Deanna’s been very accommodating with time changes, and has a lot of animal experience and knowledge she’s been gracious enough to share with me about anxious dogs.
Deanna is very organized and dependable. She is the best pet sitter and dog walker anyone could ask for. She places a high value on the safety of any pet she is taking care of. She is trained to give needed medications, including IVs. A true professional with the goal of meeting the individual needs of each pet, including her own 2 dogs.
Deanna has been our most beloved dog walker for over 13 years. We absolutely adore her... from her always-cheerful attitude (no matter what the weather), her super reliable/on-time visits, and the way she goes above and beyond to take care of our pets (and let us know if she notices anything amiss), to her excellent communications before and after her visit or walk. We love her, we trust her completely, and we recommend her wholeheartedly.
Deanna cared for my two cats for 6 years. She came highly recommended to me by a coworker and my little guys and I couldn't have been happier! Like most pet owners, my little fur babies meant the world to me. One of my cats needed multiple medications daily (oral and injections) as well as an inhaler and my cat let Deanna do it all. She truly is fantastic! It was such a relief not to worry about the care they were receiving. (Unfortunately, they are both now in kitty heaven but boy did they love Deanna!). Highly recommend!!

A typical day
I enjoy brisk energy burning walks with dogs, with training some along the way. Sometimes a sniff walk is all a pup can manage because of weather or age, but the mental stimulation of smelling and seeing all the sights is often just as satisfying to them as physical exercise. I love playing with active kitties, and sometimes hiding treats or puzzle games can offer them something fun and challenging to do while owners are away. The safety of your pet and home are my utmost priority! My visits can range from a quick check in to a 60 minute visit, so you can customize what's best for your family.

Dog walking and Cat sitting is my full time job, so I make it a point to be available when I'm needed, and always work holidays and weekends.
