Playful & Dependable Sitter/Walker

Pet care experience

Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. I'm an experienced pet owner of 15 years and very much an "I have to stop and pet the dog" type of woman. Services I offer include house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I am intuitive when it comes to both animals and people, and am happy to work with cats & less common pets - I have a hedgehog & bearded dragon myself! I'm happy to say I have a handful of consistent clients who I've been working for years for. What started off as a way to earn money in between teaching (perfect summer gig for a teacher) has turned into a passion that I would like to persue full time as I dedicate more "remote" time to my writing career. I'm the "sister" to a male Coton de Tulear named Max, who is my best bud. I've had him since he was a pup, rendering me extremely confident in my ability to work with dogs of all ages and appropriately handle emergencies and administer medication. If I were to entrust my pets care to someone, I would need to know that they would treat them as if they were their own. As a care provider, I offer nothing less to you and offer a free initial "meet and greet" so we can both see if we'd be a good fit. Animals and exercise make my day significantly brighter, and I hope to return the same positive energy to both you and your pet. I'm trained in the field of behavioral psychology and have an extensive background in childcare, and I think it's important for you to know that I am compassionate, creative, and quick on my feet. I take any job that I have seriously, particularly those in which I'm entrusted to stay in the home. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'd love to start working with you & your pet at your earliest convenience.

Deanna Mansfield is the most kind hearted and responsible person I know. Her immense care for animals makes her the perfect candidate as dog sitter. I spend a lot of time with Deanna and whenever we encounter any dogs on our journeys (which happens a lot with the large amount of walks and adventures we have), they seem to instantly fall in love with her. Deanna is dedicated and gives all of her work 110%.

Deanna’s a good friend of mine and has watched my golden Bruno on multiple occasions. She’s punctual, kind, and has always been an animal lover. She has patience with Bruno during his hyperactive and chewing episodes and is great at calming him down. When I’m out of town for more than a day, Deanna sends me photos of their adventures without me having to ask. Sometimes I feel like the third wheel, they get along so well. If you’re looking for someone to build a reliable, engaging and safe professional relationship with, I highly recommend reaching out to Deanna.

Information Deanna M. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know their general temperament & if there has ever been a history of biting. Additionally I'd like to know food dos & don'ts, if there are any known allergies, how well they interact with other dogs/animals, any environmental "triggers" (ie loud noises, thunder, men) , what coping strategies work best for them in times of distress, as well as any medical issues or medications they are on. What are some signs that they are not feeling well? Are they prone to chewing property? Do they communicate more vocally or through motions? As a dog mom myself, I know that there are a lot of "little things" that can be of great importance.

A typical day

If you or your pet have a preferred route, I will happily stick to routine. Otherwise, I'm most likely to look up local parks or trails in your area, or just go where the dog takes me until it's time to turn around! As for fun, we can play fetch, (gentle) tug of war, dig in the sand if we stumble upon a beach, run in an open field (leashed), and chill on a blanket & have some treats and belly rubs. If you're comfortable with your dog getting wet & swimming, I'd definitely be up for that - I don't mind bathtime. If your dog is more on the active side, I can also look to see if there is a dog park in the area.

As a pet mom myself, my day starts and end with care. I no longer live with my childhood dog, so this frees up my time to walk other people's. I prefer 30-40 min walks but am willing to go longer if you have a bouncy one!
