Pet care experience
My love of caring for animals outside of the dogs and cats that were always at home started as a middle schooler when I volunteered weekly at the Oregon Humane Society. I would wash, walk, and play with dogs and cats through all the individual quirks that come up in a rescue environment. My dog Tonks is a rescue and the only regret I have about that is not having more time with her earlier in life!!! I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind, small, large, young, old, along with cats, rabbits, reptiles, chickens, goats, fish and rodents. I have lived on farms caring for farm animals and am comfortable in a variety of environments. I have a dog, cat, and two rabbits, and also care for a pug puppy that I am helping to raise with one of my best friends. I also live with an additional dog, cat, and snake. I am truly an animal lover and would be thrilled to care for your friends. I know how much your animal companions mean to you!!

Dawn is a wonderful caretaker of animals and has been helping me out for the last few years with my Pup Bubba! They are consistent and on time, help with the training I ask them to and are very communicative. they have become an integral part of his life and caretaking team. I live on an acre with two dogs, two cats, two rabbits, and a snake. While the yard is huge it is not fully fenced as is one of the biggest reason I don't feel as comfortable hosting as I do coming to your home. Our cats and rabbits are also quite unsure of new dogs and putting them through these new experiences repeatedly is another reason I prefer caring in your home! I play outside, go for walks or runs, go to the dog park if appropriate, or rest and lounge if they are cuddle bugs like my dog. I try to focus on what the individual animals needs and likes and focus on those aspects of our hang out time. My dog Tonks is great with other animals, especially cats and other small pets!!

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors to look out for. I believe that understanding triggers for animals is very important in keeping them happy and within their window of tolerance! Other information I would love to hear about are activity levels, eating and bathroom habits, what helps calm them down, behavior toward people, dogs, and other animals, and how they react to being separated from you.
A typical day
I love to play fetch, go on walks/runs, go the Mary S. Young or another local park. I love to give animals attention and love. I would love to hear about your animal's training and work to support it during our time together.

Availability
I work a couple days a week at a nursery where I am able to bring my dog. I am usually gone on those days for the whole work day, usually Wednesdays and Fridays. The other week days I have school, for 3-5 hour chunks. While I keep busy there is a lot of room for walks, dropping in and spending time with your furballs, and overnights are always available.
