Kemp Mill K9 Care offers affordable in home dog boarding in Silver Spring, MD. Your dog will be treated as a member of our own furry family during their stay, with access to our large fenced yard as needed for potty breaks, dog beds on every level of the house not to mention all the ‘people’ furniture that they can hop up on for cuddles anytime they want. Our standard rate includes many premium services that you might expect to pay extra for including: daily walks, ball play, obedience training practice, treadmill training, administering medications as needed, tooth brushing, and basic grooming. We can usually also handle nail trimming and ear cleaning upon request. We charge by the night, so a drop off on Sunday and pick up on Saturday counts as a 6-night stay. My husband and I live in a single family home in Silver Spring with no children. We have a large yard enclosed by commercial grade reinforced fencing and dog-friendly landscaping. The house backs to the woods of Northwest Branch with access to walking trails along the creek. Dogs can have access to back yard as often as needed. NO dogs are left unattended in my yard. When we are not home guest dogs are crated. We have crates to fit most any dog or you can bring your own crate if you prefer. I started Kemp Mill K9 Care after I retired from my career as a police officer. As a retiree, I’m home most of the day so your dog will get lots of attention, several walks a day, and frequent (supervised) outside time in our fenced back yard. I have experience training dogs including for competition obedience trials, am certified in canine first aid and CPR and have taught basic obedience at Capital Dog Training Club. My husband and I have always owned big dogs. We currently have a German Shepherd and medium (most people would probably say ‘large’) hound mix and a small pit mix. Most of my experience is with larger dogs, but I board the small ones too. Your dogs will be treated as one of my own while they are here.
