Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Dawn and I love animals! Throughout my life, I have had 2 dogs and 4 cats. I currently have one cat, Mabel. So if you also have cats, I would be more than happy to take care of them as well! My in-laws have a golden retriever, Holly, that my husband and I have also taken care of as well. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I was a volunteer for the SPCA of Luzerne County for 6 years and I loved volunteering there. I worked with mostly cats at pet partner locations (emptying/changing litter, feeding, socializing), but also worked with dogs at the shelter and for adoption events. I was required to attend a training on dog handling in order to volunteer. I also have experience fostering. I fostered a young kitten, including bottle feeding her, while searching for her forever home. In the future, I would love to adopt an animal with special needs, so I would love the opportunity to get some experience working with special needs dogs and cats.

I can take your dogs on walks and play with them outside, if there is a fenced in yard. I could also play with your dog/cat inside with their favorite toys! I could potentially watch your dog in my home. I have a cat that is curious about dogs, but does not really interact with them. I would prefer to go to your home and care for your dog, but could bring them to my house as well, if your dog is good with cats.

I would like to know what commands your dog(s) knows and where they are allowed in the house - e,g., if they are allowed on furniture or the bed, etc., any specific needs, such as medical needs.
A typical day
I love exploring different neighborhoods, especially still being somewhat new to northern NJ. I would thoroughly enjoy taking your pup for a walk. On weekends when I have more availability, I love hiking. If your dog enjoys hiking as well, I'd love to take them on a trail. If you have a fenced in yard, I would also love to provide some play time with your pet. I love cats and playing with them as well!

I am a licensed social worker working in a private practice. Most of my mornings/early afternoons are free or I would have time between clients to stop by your home for a visit. I am also available on weekends.
