Pet care experience
I know how much trust is involved in leaving your family member with me. I take exceptional care to keep your dog safe and happy, and will provide ample exercise and stimulation while you're away--and pictures to show that your pup is enjoying him/herself! Having grown up on a farm, I have decades of experience with all kinds of animals (cats, dogs, chickens, horses, llamas, etc!). Currently, I own just one 50lb pitbull/visula mix who has received her Canine Good Citizen certification, has attended weekly daycare ever since she was a puppy, and is dog-social. I also have over 6 years of nannying/house-sitting/dog-sitting experience for families here in the Bay (through such prestigious agencies as Town and Country). I already spend hours weekly ensuring my dog gets great exercise and socialization, so why not do it with a buddy? I informally care for many friends' dogs, and my dog loves having a friend. Doing this because I love it (I already have a full-time job during normal business hours). I live near fantastic off-leash dog parks such as Wildcat Canyon, Pt. Isabel, and Albany Bulb. My yard is large and fully fenced. Your kiddo will be getting plenty of outdoor activity! Please let me know if you prefer your dog to stay on-leash. Please let me know about the energy level of your dog, and if they have any reactive behaviors (leash reactivity, guarding food, etc). Please note that during weekends I can provide the most exercise to your kiddo! Weekdays I try to squeeze in a morning dog run before work, but I don't always succeed in one per day. Regardless of weekends or weekdays, I can provide lots of love, cuddles, comfort and play!

Dawn and Oakley were the best. We had a great pre-stay walk with both dogs and Dawn and Oakley both got a great feel for Otis. Dawn regularly reported on Otis's stays and sent some sweet photos. I was happy to hear that Oakley and Otis got along really well and that Otis was a good boy during his stay. Thanks Dawn and Oakley!!

Dawn has watched my middle aged dog on many occasions, including up to three weeks while I was on an international trip. This includes providing regular (twice daily, time sensitive) seizure medications to my pup, providing regular daily exercise (better than I even do on a regular basis! Including hikes, dog park trips, swimming, etc.) and is very safety-minded with excellent instincts and knowledge about dog behavior. My dog Athena has come home better trained, more well-mannered and very happy- even after long stays. She is highly dependable, very responsive by email and phone, and even provides cute photos of how happy Athena is when I'm at work. Can't speak highly enough of Dawn- also her dog Oakley is awesome! Great about sharing space with Athena- even when she apparently took over her bed and tried to eat her food. So sweet and gentle with my small dog. They are both sweeties.
Dawn has watched both our dogs over the past few years many times and we have nothing but good things to say about the experience. She's extremely responsible and takes care of them like they're her own. When one of our dogs became ill she dropped everything to make sure he had the care he needed. We trust and highly recommend Dawn!

No breed preferences, but I do need your dog to be dog social (both so everyone is safe at home, and also at the parks). Please let me know if your dog is food or leash (or toy) reactive. I Please let me know if your dog has any quirky habits or likes to get into anything in the house). I take my dog off leash in the parks, but please let me know if you prefer your dog to stay on leash. My dog gets along with all breeds, but dogs that are extremely high-energy sometimes make her uncomfortable. She particularly loves small dogs (she used to be placed in the small dog group at daycare--I don't think she knows that she's medium sized!)
A typical day
We are lucky enough to live close to Wildcat Canyon, Pt. Isabel and Albany Bulb--all of which we frequent for dog walks and runs! I believe in ample exercise and chew toys to foster healthy ways to relieve stress.
