Dogs are people too

Pet care experience

After years of working with these incredible four legged creatures, I've come to find that caring for these furry family members has presented a unique opportunity to slow down and to reevaluate what really matters in life. Regarding booking with me, know that if I am unclear about anything, I can ask a lot of questions about your dog's schedule, behavior, needs, and tendencies. I also lean towards the side of over-communication, unless a specific arrangement is made otherwise. By default, I like to keep owner's up to date at a bare minimum of once daily (for longer stays, more frequently for shorter ones). You will be kept in the loop via photos, videos, and/or brief descriptions depicting whatever activities and excitement of the day has presented. If I am unsure of something, I will ask - even if I've already talked to you four times that day. I will never assume anything or make my best guess when it comes to your dog (or your home if I am sitting at your place). All of that being said, I will gladly adjust my style of care, frequency of communication, and anything else that will make you and your furry companion more comfortable with the arrangement. While I do live in Bridgewater, I gladly serve the Greater Boston Area with both boarding and house sitting. My house, in my opinion, is the perfect environment for doing what I do. With a large fenced in yard and plenty of space indoors and out, your fur friend will love all of the space to run, sniff, explore, and play. In addition to free access to my fenced in yard, pupper will also enjoy a minimum of two hours on the leash walking on average daily. With your approval, I offer my guests healthy & all natural treats (freeze dried beef liver). Additionally, I do have a guest dog bed and all other equipment needed to properly care for pup. While all of that is important, I feel that it is both my deep respect for these creatures and my natural attunement to their quirks and needs that truly set me apart from the rest. Your dog will probably like me better than you do, as admittedly, I have found myself more interested in hanging around them than I am my own species!

David did a wonderful job watching my new 12 week old puppy. He came back home tired and happy.

We came to visit Boston for a wedding and booked David to watch Winston for a couple of hours. We really appreciated how responsive David is and how accommodating he and his partner were to ensure Winston was comfortable, had his potty break (very thankful we didn’t have to do that after coming back from the wedding) and tired him out by playing with him. When we got back to the hotel, he was out like a light which was perfect since he’s such a high energy dog. If we ever come back we’ll definitely book David again!

David was great with the dogs and they really seemed to enjoy their stay with him. He sent lots of great pictures and kept us updated. Would definitely recommend and would use him again!

Safety, trust & environment

I will always do my best to keep your dog as safe and as comfortable as I can. From the monent they walk in the front door until the time they leave at the end of the stay, rest assured that my number one priority is the safety and well-being of pupper, and second only to that, the comfort and trust of their human counterparts. When boarding with me, know that I place great importance on cultivating all of this. To ensure that they burn off that pent up energy, I always try to set aside some time for at least one longer walk in the afternoon, which is a benefit to both your dog and to myself. Between the attention your dog receives, open access to the back yard, walks, and the time playing indoors, your pet should be pretty worn out by the time they go home. If your dog is older or has health issues this will be adjusted accordingly.

Information David W. would like to know about your pet

Human counterparts of first time guests MAY be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire relating the dog's history, behavioral quirks, routine, as well as your expectations. This ensures that I have all of the relevant information in determining whether pupper is a good fit. Additionally, it provides a written record of important details that can easily be missed otherwise, such as emergency contact info, vet info, dietary restrictions, aggressive tendencies & triggers, and any care needs for future reference. While I don't ask all of my guests to fill out this form, if asked, I simply request that owners answer the questions with consideration & integrity. It is for everyone's safety and well-being, that of myself and pup included.

Being a walker myself, your pup will be given more than enough time outdoors, a bare minimum of 2 hours daily. In between walks I often take a few minutes to engage my guests with belly rubs and playful exercise indoors, simply to let them know that they are loved and to keep them happy, active, and socially engaged. Additionally, I live with a dog lover who is equally involved in caring for my guests. She is also a long time pet owner and equally if not more experienced in caring for dogs as I am. If your dog is staying with us, you can rest assured that one of us will be within your dogs line of site at any given moment. We are both very attentive and do our absolute best to ensure that you and your dog are satisfied with the services we provide. You get two caregivers for the price of one! That said, I take full responsibility for the care your dog receives while boarding here with us.
