David - Total dog advocate and enthusiast.

Pet care experience

Welcome to my page, thank you for checking it out. Dogs are a passion for me, and looking after them and caring for them is what I do, it's my full time occupation, I do enjoy it so much, but I take it seriously which is why I am pet first aid qualified. I have had dogs for most of my life, my partner and I began adopting rescue greyhounds nearly twenty years ago, we usually have a pair at any given time. Presently we have Anna, she is a four-year-old greyhound and our fourth rescue grey. We are deeply committed to our dog as she is an integral part of our home, and we prefer to have her with us whenever we travel. Dog walks take place at least twice a day. We know that it’s not easy with busy lives to fit everything in, and that is where we can help where your pet dogs are concerned. I have owned a number of Irish Setters and that gave me a good grounding in dog training and handling, these are skills that have grown over the years and that I still use, and share when asked to. I am enthusiastic about being outdoors and the environment, I love dog walking in the countryside, so having other people's dogs is ideal for me. Arrangements for dog walking can be tailored and negotiated around your dogs' individual needs. For example, if your dog can happily be walked with others then that’s what I would do, dogs are overtly social creatures after all, I will not walk large groups of dogs as even on a walk they still need our attention. If they need a solo walk then that’s fine too. With regards to boarding and daycare, we have looked after other people’s pets in our home for several years now, ours is a calm and relaxed house and any dog staying with us will be treated as one of our own.

On our first meeting I could tell that David loves dogs and that Rufus would be in safe hands! This was the first time I had ever left him with anyone he didn’t know so wasn’t sure how it would go but he apparently settled in well during a long weekend stay. Highly recommended

We are so delighted with the care and attention David gave to our fat boy on his holiday, David called us so my mum & I could go for a walk with Angus which was a very pleasant surprise and that reassured her that he was happy. She feels confident that on her next stay with us, Angus will be very well cared for at David's too! Angus couldn't stay with her as we run a cattery and have 24 cats of our own in the house!

Alfie had a wonderful time and was excited to be able to socialise with David's own dogs and his other guests. Alfie was welcomed into David's home without any fuss and cannot wait to go back.

Initially apprehensive about leaving our dog for first time, but needn't have worried at all! David was great with Tessa, she was clearly having fun from the photos we received regularly, from the meet & greet it was apparent that David loves dogs. A big plus is that Tessa came back to us a better trained girl! Would highly, highly recommend David...7 stars if they were available 😊

A typical day

Boarded dogs will be exercised at least twice a day unless the owner requires a different regime, we like to use secure exercise fields a few times a week so guest dogs get a chance to run about and let off steam in safety. Dogs in daycare will get at least one good walk each day.
