Loving & Reliable Pet Care
Pet care experience
David in Chelsea, NYC here - a loving, reliable, and caring animal canine care giver available for personalized doggy day care & overnight boarding. I recently lost my beloved French Bulldog, Dudley, and now have a huge hole in my heart to fill, and a lot of love & fun to give to your canine companion. I have over 15+ years of dog care experience, from puppy to senior care, and specialize in small to smaller-medium size breeds - especially French Bulldogs, Poodle mixes, Shih Tzu mixes, Maltese mixes, Miniature Schnauzers, and Dachshunds. I also work from home, and can fit your pets needs into my schedule. A 25+ year resident of Chelsea, I know this neighborhood well, in addition to the rest of Manhattan. Unfortunately, my NYC apartment is small. so I can only accommodate smaller breeds (approximately under 20 pounds) or puppies for day care or overnight boarding - only one dog at a time. Your dog will get all of my attention! Always responsive, feel free to contact me.
Reviews
We had never boarded our toy poodle in Manhattan before, but circumstances required us to engage a sitter for nine days. David came highly recommended aand we soon learned why. He has a natural affinity for small dogs, treats them like a member of the family and unfailingly provides charming updates with great photos three times a day. Our pup felt like the toast of the town checking in at David's favorite Chelsea haunts. He knows who keeps the treats behind the counter! We looks forward to a return visit in the near future.
David is an extraordinary dogsitter. He took wonderful, attentive, generous care of our boy, and kept us updated every step of the way with photos and detailed messages: it was clear throughout that Roosevelt was having the BEST time! David truly goes the extra mile and then some. Hours before his weekend stay, Roosevelt was diagnosed with a paw infection; David looked after him incredibly well, following the vet’s instructions perfectly. Roosevelt always comes back from his time with David happy, healthy, well-exercised, and eager to return. Thank you, David!
Jack-Jack had a great time :)
David and his spouse took amazing care of Jack Jack! Highly recommend

Information David R. would like to know about your pet
Tell me about your pet. What special requirements, allergies, behavioral, or health issues does your dog have? What Is your pets temperament: high or low energy, sweet, shy, playful? And what are their potty & walking habits: outside only, WeeWee pad trained, or both? Can your dog walk up and down apartment building stairs, or are they light enough to be carried (I live in a 4th floor walk-up building)? Smaller breeds and puppies preferred (approximately under 20 pounds), and I have experience with French Bulldogs, Poodle mixes, Shih Tzu mixes, Maltese mixes, Miniature Schnauzers, and Dachshunds.
A typical day
Your dog will have a comfy, cozy, and clean place to stay during the day or overnight - with toys to play with, a day bed, and plenty of water to drink. On walks we'll go around the block, to Madison Square Park, Gramercy Park, Chelsea West Side Esplanade, and through quiet tree lined West Village & Greenwich Village streets - and perhaps to the pet store for a treat!
