Pet care experience
I've had dogs and cats since I was 18. I loved and cared for each of them until they passed from old age. All of them were rescues. As a homeopath, now I also occasionally treat dogs and cats. I also had a parrot for about 12 years and have had a backyard chicken coop for 15 years. I am also a moderator for the Rochester City Chicken Club on Facebook. I am comfortable working with most birds. I am a full time homeopath, but after caring for an elderly relative, I am currently rebuilding my practice, so I have time and flexibility to sit for pets. I believe in doing what you love, and I love working with animals. I do not board animals. At home, we have two longhair cats, a Yorkie, backyard chickens and fishtanks. We are at capacity. ;) So we don't board.
Reviews
David was mature, mindful, thorough, and clean. I'll use him again at my earliest convenience. I did not want to state my feedback because I want to keep him for myself. We have a real winner here.
David did such an awesome job taking care of Bubba and Lucy while I was away. He took wonderful care of the house, was respectful, and communicated often with updates to ease my mind. Definitely recommend and will be rebooking in the future!
Dave has taken care of a couple generations of my pets--both dogs and cats. In addition to being an animal lover, he has real patience with special needs dogs and elderly animals. He appreciates learning the personalities of each pet and their quirks. I recommend him highly.
I’ve known Dave for 9 years, and he’s always been a caring, compassionate, and responsible caretaker to his own cats, dogs, chickens, and fish. In fact, he has deep knowledge and abilities when it comes to healing our animals, when needed. I’ve also seen him give the same quality of care to other’s pets.

Our dog Ollie, gets at least one walk a per day, and lots of facetime with people who love him and keep him engaged and stimulated. Really the key is paying attention to the dogs needs, and providing them, the same way you would to any family member.
Information David Malcolm S. would like to know about your pet
Any health, behavioral, or environmental issues, are essential to know ahead of time. Likes and dislikes are also helpful to know. Finally, what is the most important thing(s) that you want your pet to get out of the visit(s).
A typical day
This depends on what the dog likes to do. Larger dogs may like to fetch or play tug of war, or just go on walks. Some dogs are more sedentary and like scratches or hugs. Other dogs, like hunting or herding breeds, like to have appropriate activities, fetching frisbees, toys, et cetera.
