Pet care experience
I have always been around or had dogs since growing up with a German Shepherd from childhood. From that very early age I have always been an animal lover, especially dogs of all breeds and sizes. I have personally had 3 German Shepherds (2 from puppy). Currently I have a Boxer and another German Shepherd (also from puppy). I also have family members with smaller dogs (Dachshund and Jack Russell) who I care for when they are away. So my experience with dogs is vast of all shapes and sizes. Having had 3 puppies I am also familiar with their needs, caring for them and training techniques if so required. On top of this I have experience of dogs with needs / medication routines. My sisters Chocolate Labrador had elbow dysplasia from birth that needed constant medication and monitoring who I helped look after when she was away . And my German Shepherd now has allergies meaning I have to control and keep her on a strict diet.

David and his family couldn’t have been more welcoming for our lab. They treated him as their own and kept us updated twice daily. Our dog seemed to really enjoy his stay and we will definitely be in touch with David again in the future.

I am well routined (for my own work) at home which caters to the dogs needs excellently, also loving routine. We walk in the mornings and feed and them again in the afternoon / evening (weather permitting and not too hot in summer months). I have a 60-70 foot long garden which the dogs love to play in and extra playtime (or instead of a walk for dogs anxious going out with people they do not know) is no problem at all, coupled with working from home and flexible working hours. The garden is completely fenced and there are no routes for escape. We do also have a large kennel (with in and outdoor sections) for any dogs who may need to feel safe in an enclosed environment. Inside the house we have dog beds (and a chair) in the main rooms for their comfort, rather than having to sit on hard floors all the time.

Any special needs, medicines, dietary requirements or whether the dog can be walked off a lead or should always be on one. How much exercise is required. Are they up to date with flea treatment.
A typical day
I can walk on or off lead. There are many different circuits where I live. I also line five minutes from South Hill, Lookout and Swinley which I use a fair bit. On top of that we have a long garden and plenty of toys they can play with and run after.

Availability
I work from home so your dog will have no to very little time on their own. We also have two dogs who are friendly and very good with other dogs, so your dog should never feel alone or anxious. We live in a very well connected area for walks, whether it on the lead on safe circuits or five minutes from South Hill, Swinley Woods and the Lookout. Due to the nature of my flexible hours I can offer morning, afternoon and/or evening walks. Weekends for boarding are not usually an issue.
