Pet care experience
I was a walker and pet sitter with Untangled Leashes in northern Virginia for three years, from September 2016 until my return to Los Angeles in September 2019. I have references from both the original and subsequent owners of the business. I was known as the "dog whisperer" due to my knack for bonding with rescue / nervous dogs. I've been entrusted with elderly dogs (and cats), including the administration of their medication. I enjoy meeting you and your dog(s) casually beforehand so that your dog can get a sense of me. One Virginia client, whose dog could not get enough of my belly rubs and hiney scratches, has offered to be both a personal and professional reference and another sent me an email stating, "[My dog] sure does miss her dog walks with you, though -- can't be matched!"

Daved stayed with my family beloved three cats for nearly a week and did a wonderful. It’s hard to leave your kids for that long but Daved send videos and photos and regular updates, played with them and gave them love and pets. He also left my place in such great shape and even washed the bedding and towels which I didn’t expect. Thank you Daved! 💜🐈⬛🐈🐈
He's a natural! At first, my nervous and powerful Boxer puppy Frida wanted to lunge at him, because she is not good with strangers. He immediately knew how to handle the situation and by the end of the walk, they were besties. Thank you for your kind treatment of my puppy, Daved! She was sad when you left ?
Daved was amazing! Elsa loved him instantly and I felt so relieved leaving for my work trip knowing she was in great hands. Without asking, Daved kept me posted on Elsa every day and took tons of pictures to share with me! He stayed in my apartment for the entirety of my trip and kept it spotless, even tidying up and doing the laundry when he left. I'd highly recommend him to anyone, especially if your pup is usually a little standoffish like mine.
Daved was wonderful with my dogs. He kept me informed with pictures and texts. I have an elderly dog with special needs and Daved was great with him.

I only care for pets in their own home. Remaining in their everyday environment, the 'safe known,' where they are comfortable, allows them to continue happily with their routines. New environments can be stressful, especially for older dogs.

We'll discuss everything about your dog (or cat) during the meet-and-greet, which are essential for the dog. I either take notes or will follow the instructions you leave for me. Some dogs have sensitive spots and don't want to be touched there, or are rescues and have unknown triggers. Somed dogs and cats bond instantly and want attention and play and some are like introverts. With those, I give them all the time they need to get comfortable with me. Once they are, we're buddies.
A typical day
Activities are based on what has already been established. If a dog or cat likes playtime before meals, they will continue having playtime before meals. If they like Chuckit! at the park before bed, they will get to play until they let me know, 'That's it, (pant pant pant), I'm ready for bed.'

Availability
I assist a man with Parkinson's DAILY in Palm Springs from 7:30 - 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM, and 5:00 - 6:00 PM. All other times are free and normally spent back at your home with your dog(s) or cat(s). I spend a lot of time writing so am a natural homebody.
