🐶🐱 Nomadic pet sitting in Texas
Pet care experience
As a retired Texan, I now combine my nomadic house sitting (Trusted House Sitters) with my pet sitting services. I enjoy meeting great dogs and cats as I travel around exploring new locations. As a dog owner all my life and have owned 10 labs over the past 40 years ( some with litters) and 2 dog families ( 2 labs named Chips and Salsa ) I realize that a routine is important when the master leaves even for a few hours or overnight. Good playtime and exercise is important to a healthy and content dog. Individual attention can make that time just fly away and before you know it the master is back and is reunited with their best friend. I welcome the opportunity to be your dogs next best buddy even if it is just a short stay. I am a single home owner with no kids if that needs to be a requirement. ( some dogs get uncomfortable when kids are around) Nothing like home sweet home to your dog. Since the house has no fence, I use a leash or running line when outside.
Reviews
Dave sent us several pictures of lemon while we were away. She had a blast playing with his dogs. He was flexible when we had a change. Highly recommend, we would let Dave watch lemon again!!
Dave was great with our dog! He sent pictures and videos every day that we were gone and updated us frequently. I would definitely use him again to watch our pup!
Good care. Thank you
Dave responded quickly and was flexible in helping us with a last minute request. I had already booked him for a visit 2 weeks from now and feel very comfortable leaving my pups and home in his hands.

Dogs are family members and like it or not need and require attention and interaction to remain content and happy. Structured playtime and bonding help our best friends remain loyal and obedient and promote a social interaction with friends and visitors that invite a warm response and interactions for all.
A typical day
If your dog is an inside or outside or a combination of both like mine have been, I strive to maintain that consistently throughout their stay ( or my stay..lol). Dogs are easily amused and happy most when we give them the love and attention they need. You may not see it but you can sense they have needs and being in tune with those signals can prevent unwanted consequences. As for my current pets, they are mostly indoor . They sleep at the foot of the bed, wakes up early like I do and heads out for his first urination in the back yard. If I go to leave the house in the morning, she will maybe jump up on the bed and watch me get ready and I'll let her out for one more time and then reward here with a treat when I leave. Generally I can leave them indoors anywhere from 4-8 hours with out any problems. When I get home, they go outside and do their one and number 2 and then brings the bone or ball for some fetches in the yard. After that he will lay in the kitchen hoping for some scraps from supper preparations and then it's off for a evening walk around the neighborhood for about 30 minutes (about 1.5 miles) then it is a relaxing evening in the family room until bedtime. Most of my dogs in the past, have been raised this way and all were happy and enjoyed their visits and I have immensely appreciated their company as well. Hope your buddy can experience the same. Play time and exercise are important for a happy and well rested dog. A routine is important to remain in place until the master arrives back home again. Individual attention and respect can provide a long lasting bond even if just for a short spell.
