Attentive Loving Family 🐶

Pet care experience

My life is centered around my family and two dogs, Bali and Karma. I'm currently a stay-at-home dad which means that your pet will always have a human companion nearby. Ever since my earliest memory I have loved dogs. My first dog Brandy, a cocker spaniel, was the start of my love of dogs. Over the past 30 years, I have cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes for my friends and family. Bali and Karma are high energy and very friendly with all dogs. Bali has been through school and earned his canine good citizen certificate. Karma is a rescue that was very nervous when we first got her, but with time, lots of attention, and love; she's trusting and the most fun-loving dog.

Darren made our boys feel safe and comfortable while we were gone. He communicated well with us, kept us updated, and sent lots of photos. Boys were in good spirits when we returned home, and they even ate like normal in our absence. Great experience!

Darren is just not just our sitter, he is my dogs’ best friend! He is absolutely amazing with communication and he takes such a good care of both my shy little girl and my senior boy!

Amazing care for both our huskies! He was so sweet with both our older boy and our youngest shy girl! I am never worried when I leave my fur babies with Darren. He is always on time and leaves the house cleaner than how he finds it. Rico and Sky can’t wait to see you again soon!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is important to me. I understand what it takes to care for another living thing and I also understand the feeling of leaving your loved one in the care of another. We frequently travel to visit our family abroad leaving our two huskies at home with someone or at a sitter. When leaving your pet with us, we promise to treat them as one of our own, loving them until your return. I have experience with all breeds and sizes of dogs and am happy to care for your pet. I provide an attentive, loving, routine-driven environment for our dogs. I have experience with aggression in the presence of food, toys, or other people. If you're dog has shown signs of aggression, I would be happy to hear their story and plan a pre-boarding meet to ensure your comfort as well a a good fit with our family. We apologize, but if your pet has any aggression towards babies or children, I would not be able to care for your pet, but have two referrals of other people that may be able to help whom also have experience with aggression. Part of the boarding experience includes check-ins which include text, phone calls, video calls, or photo messaging. Whatever form of check-in you're most comfortable with, I would be happy to accommodate. If you prefer that your pet does not visit any open-roaming dog parks, I am happy to honor that request. Please let me know at the time of booking. Thank you for considering leaving your pet with us! ❤️

A typical day

Our two huskies have their own routine including requesting their morning treat and potty break first thing in the morning followed by some play in the fenced in backyard. They can freely roam and come in and out of the house through our installed doggy door. During the day, we take a walk to Harding Park which is very enjoyable for all of us. The park requires leashes, but there are always many things to explore and other dogs for your pet to meet. Our dogs have made friends with another neighborhood dog, Mayor Jerry, and love to stop by his yard for play which is also fenced in. We occasionally take trips to nearby dog parks. On one of the weekend days, we are either on a long hike or at one of the larger dog parks in the area. These trips are optional for your pet, but we would love to have them with us. Our day typically rounds out with some more indoor play, treats, and relaxation. We have a enclosed space in our living room that pets enjoy near my desk at our plants. It's their own zen zone with pillows and comfortable space to enjoy near the window to the front yard happenings (bird watching, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits, and other dogs walking passed). We also leave our couches and beds open to our pets to relax comfortably.

Availability

I'm home all week available to provide love and care at any time. *My schedule also requires a lot of brushing dogs and vacuuming daily in the house due to the husky's never-ending shedding. Thus, our environment is typically clean and enjoyable too.
