Everything seemed great with Darlene before leaving to California, but as days went on we got more concerned as a family and then when we got back blwe felt seriously failed. While we were on our vacation we first got a message saying out of the blue that she could not work Saturday and Sunday and could we find someone to cover her.... After we made an agreement after we had already hired her and after we were three thousand miles away. When we came back home (we only had two bedrooms open and we live in a small house) there were piles of urine and feces everywhere in my daughter's room. It appeared that someone put people towels over the urine but never cleaned it up. Therefore, the urine had rolled backwards under the mat and my hardwood floor is now ruined. Darlene said she never went back there but I have pictures she sent me of dogs in that room and I have pictures she sent me of dogs in my bedroom which is right next to my daughter's room so she had to have seen something or she had to have put the paper towels down in the first place. When I confronted her on this she is accusing our family of setting her up! We have used boarding and dog sitter services for close to twenty years and would never imagined setting somebody up. I used to be a dog walker myself and understand all of the intricate details caring for one's pets. My husband and her made an agreement , financially and now she is trying to go back saying we would set her up....and that she doesn't do any of this for money she just does this to keep active. Darlene took this job knowing we have a dachshund that loses emotional control and can get super angry. During the visit, my dachshund attacked Darlene on her hand and her leg she said as she was petting her underneath her stomach. immediately we tried to find a boarding service or I offered my mom to pick up the dog because I would never want anybody else to be hurt. she declined multiple times and insist that she continue the job with that third dog when we had offered to remove the dog from the home. I would never hire Darlene again because she acts very sweet in person but completely flips the script and acts like a different person behind the scenes. Beware!!! I have stopped communicating with her because she is being very unprofessional but my husband is going to financially settle up with her as we promised on out end, despite my hardwood floor is being ruined and then job not being done. Very disappointed to come back from California with this situation.

Darlene is trustworthy, punctual, loving and sweet. She’s very laid back and love for dogs is obvious. She stayed in my home with dogs for a weekend, and it’s not easy to find someone to trust. I’m grateful for her stay and you will love her too.
