We would use Darin again for our dog. He was attentive to our dog's needs. Provided just the right amount of connection by sending photo with updates. It was reassuring to know our lab was in good hands. Plus our dog enjoyed playing with Moca, Darin's dog. Overall satisfied to receive our happy lab back after our vacation.

Beware of fleas! Our dog, Cody, stayed with Darin for a week while we were on a cruise. Darin and his wife are very nice people and seemed to care about Cody, but the situation with the fleas was really inexcusable. Despite the fact that we contacted Darin to confirm the drop off time about four days prior, he waited till I was walking out the door when I dropped him off to tell me that they had a flea problem, but thought it was probably under control. None of our pets have EVER had fleas and we’ve never had an issue with fleas with any prior Rover homes so we were not prepared for this and it was too late to go back home and get the flea treatment we keep on hand as we were leaving the next morning. Darin said he would get some of the flea treatment and apply it, but for some reason he could not find any (only went to Petco) until six days into the stay. And he bought the pack with 6 treatments in it so it was expensive. He did not offer to pay for any of the cost of the flea treatment. When we picked Cody up I asked if he had fleas and Darin’s response was “I don’t think so”. I asked if he had checked him with a flea comb and he said that he had run his fingers through his fur and not seen any. Someone that cares for dogs should know that’s not how you check for fleas. Needless to Cody had fleas. We not only found fleas on him, but they were in his bag of supplies that we’d left with him during his stay. We had to bathe him before we took him in the house, treat the car he rode in, get the cat a flea collar, wash all of his stuff from his stay… It was a very frustrating and expensive way to return from a relaxing vacation. For all of this Darin reimbursed $20 of our stay and he said he thought that maybe Cody got the fleas on one of his walks? I still don’t know if we got all the fleas so we may have more to do in the house which will be even more expensive. We will not use Darin again.
