UPDATE - I am now living with my partner and pet bunny (part caged, part roaming). I decided to close boarding services for dogs because I am not sure how will she handle it. She lived with cats before, so I am more sure about her well-being with that species. Hi! I am a recent graduate of the Animal Science master's program at SLU. I am an animal physiotherapist by profession and that's where most of my experience working with dogs comes from. My education provided me with knowledge in basic training, behaviourism, nutrition, and agility. This allows me to deal with more "unique" pets such as seniors, puppies, or post-op dogs (I am not a specialist tho!). I started dog walking here in Uppsala in 2023, and before that, I was also dog walking at my local animal shelter when I was younger. And I am actually a cat person :)

Daria took care of my senior cat with home-sitting on 3 separate occasions. My cat Pesto has arthritis and needs some extra accommodation, which she absolutely provided. Thanks to her frequent updates I knew he was doing well! During our chat I learned a lot since Daria is an animal physiotherapist with a big heart for cats! She is an understanding, responsible, and communicative person! I would absolutely trust her with my cat again! I highly recommend Daria's services if you have a cat! They will be in wonderful hands!
Daria is seriously the best. We were in Uppsala for 3 1/2 months with our very active 1 1/2 year old Portuguese water dog. Daria was able to handle him really well, take him for long walks, and stay with him in our place. She’s responsible, responds quickly to communications, and reasonably priced. Can’t recommend her more highly. Wish we could take her back to Canada with us! You won’t regret working with her.
I have used Daria's dog walking services on a few occasions and have recommended her to friends who did dog sitting. She is pleasant, easy to communicate with, shows up on time, is flexible and accommodating of the needs of the day and most importantly my dog was happy to go walking with her. I trust Daria to keep my young dog safe and giver her a good exercise.

I am very calm in the companion of pets and I love getting to know their characters! I create a friendly environment for dogs, look for what the pet likes and usually go from there. I like using positive training, play and sometimes I add a few strokes of massage for a bit of comfort. With cats, I give them as much space as they need. I have more experience at home with cats, I took care of anxious, older, and super energetic individuals, so I know how to act around all. Active play and just cuddling are usually my plan:) I know how to take care of and act around rabbits (I have one) and rodents too. I usually wait for them to approach me and don't intimidate them more than needed. I know how to groom and clean pets if needed. I can also give the medications since I've done it many times when I worked at an animal clinic.

I need to know about any behavioral distortions, phobias, food allergies, injuries, disorders, and illnesses, and if there's anything in the medical history for me to be aware of! Also, how do they act and what are the rules in your house, if they visit mine. For eg. I'm not a fan of dogs on furniture, so I rather know before hand who am I dealing with!
A typical day
I usually go for long walks with dogs, preferably in the forest! I enjoy adding nose work and combining some exercises using nature. At home, it depends - if it's nap time I always have my kindle with me :) other than that I play, massage, and follow the doggo. With cats, it's almost completely up to them what we do. I encourage active play but I don't push, the plan strongly depends on an individual.
