Pet care experience
I'm one of those people who will fast-walk to try to catch up with you and your dog on the street so I can give them a pet and make it seem casual, like I wasn't just whispering "Oh my GOSH that dog just looked into my soul I HAVE TO PET HIM I will be right back" to my friends. I grew up with many different doggy-friends as a part of my family, always taking in strays at our home in the woods, and caring for dogs has been second-nature to me since I was a kid. After going away to college and missing my dogs, I started dog sitting and walking for friends and loved it so much I decided to branch out and start offering my services professionally. I've since had six long-term clients with many shorter and one-off gigs in-between. I have experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, dogs with missing limbs, blind and deaf dogs, lazy dogs, rambunctious dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, puppies, seniors, and even broody teen dogs. I will lovingly and skillfully accept any situation from five tiny dogs tangling their leashes together to one giant dog walking me down the street and every dog in between. :)

Darcy has taken care of my two labradoodles, Jack and Sadie, many times and they always have the biggest smiles when she comes in the door! She's been a great relief to have, as I travel for work so often and need a reliable dog sitter. She's also just a lovely person and is wonderful about communication! I never worry about how my dogs are doing when they are with her.

It's always good to know how well potty-trained they are, what their favorite toys are, what kinds of walks/jogs/runs they prefer, any medications or special needs they may have, what might scare them (vacuums, thunder), etc. I like to ask all of that on a dog-to-dog basis, though. I am down with all dogs! No breed restrictions here. :)
A typical day
I live in a cute little duplex with a spacious porch and little front yard on a quiet street right between Mississippi and Williams, so your dogs will be going on walks in two of the hippest neighborhoods in Portland, greatly boosting their street cred. For a more natural feel, we've got cozy Unthank Park just minutes away, the Skidmore Bluffs and Overlook Park for beautiful sunset strolls, and Peninsula Park to the north for a walk among the roses. I welcome and accept the most relentless of fetch-players and the laziest of paw-draggers and can make sure any dog has the time of their life.
