Dogs love & trust me..so will you!

Pet care experience

Dogs = such unique creatures. I love watching them interact w/the world. I have 2 of my own & they are my best friends. I've worked at the animal shelter in Dublin volunteering with dogs, walking them, giving them love & attention that they so deserve. If you hire me, you can be assured that I will love your dog as my own. I'm flexible & willing to work with you, keeping in mind that these are not just your animals, these are your babies, your family. Take the time to meet me, let your fur babies meet me for sure & if they approve, then we can discuss your needs & if I will be a fit for you & your family. God Bless!

Hello there, I have known Darcie for 2 years now, and I have to say that she is a wonderful person. When our beloved dog Chubbs was "missing" Darcie was on the ball, making calls, making posts on FB pages, helping with posters. Thankfully Chubbs was found! Darcie is a devoted animal lover and any animal owner can rest assure that any pet in Darcie's care will be taken care of to the best of her ability!

Information Darcie A. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences, however, I believe it is important to know what your dog(s) are afraid of, what things can set it off, that you have noticed. If possible, knowing a little bit about the history of your dog helps me in my approach to getting to know them. If they are usually scared at first meet, that helps me know how to prepare for that first visit & also how to proceed with my daily interactions. My rescue dog was terrified of loud trucks, like UPS, etc so we always tried to avoid the busy streets so that the walk & time out was beneficial & not filled with fear. If your dog has issues with other dogs or cats, while out on a walk, it's always nice to know if the dog I'm walking is going to want to try & dart out after the cat across the street. I would also like to know that all dogs are up to date on their vaccinations, especially rabies. Does your dog tend to be the dominant one in a pack or more of the submissive typed? Any medical issues?

A typical day

I love taking walks around neighborhoods & parks. I tend to keep away from busy streets if possible because the loud noises of passing cars, etc can be quite hectic & sometimes scary & intimidating for some dogs. I always bring training treats with me as I enjoy very much giving dogs jobs to do while out on walks & rewarding them is key to their hard work. Of course, I would get approval from you prior to giving a dog any kind of treat. Walks for dogs are more than just a way to get them out of the house, it's a way to work their brains & get real exercise. It's actually been proven that dogs benefit more from taking walks & working their brains while on walks than it is to just let them run around a dog park for 20 mins. Because I am beginning school at the "Animal Behavior College" to become a licensed dog trainer & then moving on to eventually becoming a dog behaviorist/rehabilitator, (think...Cesar Milan, except the female version) I like to spend a lot of time directly with the animals in my care. Learning to read their emotions, their personalities, their fears & what excites them. Each dog is so different in many ways & I LOVE being able to learn all about each dog I watch on such a personal level. Fun activities could be anything from playing fetch, hide & seek (its a total confidence booster for the slightly insecure dogs) teaching new tricks (if ok w/fur babies parents of course)
