Pet care experience
I’ve spent my whole life caring for dogs, as we always kept one in our home. I’ve grew up walking, bathing, feeding, playing, and caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages. Administering medicine is also no problem for me, I’ve done it before with my own dogs and others I cared for. I work from home so I’m always home to give your dogs my undivided attention. My schedule is open to accommodate your needs. No matter if it’s drop ins or boarding I’m always available. I have a fenced in spacious yard for loads of play time. The dogs are also free to roam the house or I and crate them which ever you prefer. There’s a park nearby also. We’ll take daily or runs twice daily to burn off extra energy. Plus cuddle up on the sofa or bed for extra living time.
Reviews
Danielle and her family took such good care of our big boy Sancho.
We dropped off our two 8-month-old puppies as kind of a last minute request. Originally, we had booked them for Camp Bow Wow, but they had just been getting over a respiratory illness, and we thought it would be best if they weren't around other dogs. I was grateful that we were able to get them situated with a sitter without much advance notice! We were a bit anxious though - we were letting our dogs stay with a stranger for the first time, given that they were recently sick, we wanted to make sure that they didn't get worse. Our experience was mixed, though. On the one hand, our dogs were kept safe while we were away, which was the most important thing (and what earns the 3 stars). They needed one additional round of antibiotics, and they got the medicine on time. The sitters also seemed like really nice people. On the other hand, the house they stayed in was really messy, and not a very good environment for puppies, in my opinion. For days after bringing them home, they were pooping out wrappers and bits of plastic and other things that they shouldn't have been eating. Fortunately, this didn't seem to have any long term effects, but dogs at this age need some extra supervision, otherwise they could get blockages or get sick or poisoned from eating the wrong thing. I don't know exactly what went on in the house, but they and their crates smelled so bad when we picked them up that they both needed to be washed immediately before laying on beds and furniture. It seems likely that they were in their crates for long enough that they peed in them and then had to lay in it for the remaining time. We also were disappointed in the sitter's profile information. It said that this was a house that only accepted 2 dogs and had no children, but when we dropped the dogs off, there was a baby in the house, and the profile got updated to be 4 dogs. These were things that would have factored into our decision to choose this sitter. I tried to check in once or twice a day to make sure they were eating and drinking normally and that their energy levels were okay. If they weren't, that would be signs that their respiratory illness could be developing into something like pneumonia, which we wanted to watch out for. We also had some general anxiety around leaving them with a stranger (and a baby) for the first time, and wanted to make sure things were good. It typically took over an hour for the sitter to respond each time, and we never got any updates if we didn't ask, despite asking in advance for them. Overall, I'm left feeling a bit let down. We paid over $100/night for the two dogs to be boarded, which is more than a professional facility like Camp Bow Wow charges, so I expected some good, attentive care. I didn't get any indication of that. The lack of updates, the pee in the crate, a chewed up food bowl (something they have never chewed at home and continue to not chew), the extra stuff they swallowed, and the inaccuracies in the sitter's profile all add up to make this not a very good experience for us. I take no pleasure in writing a review like this, but I would have wanted to see this when we were deciding where to take our pups. You deserve to know what you're getting. I've generally had good experiences with Rover, but this was not one of them.
Danielle was very professional, great response time to all questions. She granted all requests and made me so comfortable leaving my Zeus with her. Most definitely will use her service again.
Danielle is such an amazing sitter! I have two dogs... One is about 11 years old (mix breed) and the other is 9 months old (Pitt bull). I was actually traveling into New Orleans for a wedding. I drop them off after a 26-hour drive so that I could participate in that wedding without worrying about them. Danielle was very easy to talk to and had no doubt she could handle both of my pups. Danielle was kind enough to treat them as her own. So I was hoping they wouldn't give her a hard time. She has a yard that allowed them to get some much needed play time. That was a big bonus as we live in an apartment AND they just spent 26 hours in an HRV. When I return to pick them up she said they were absolutely no problem and what's happy to have them. She understood that my older pup is an old lady who wants to play But doesn't want to be bothered once she's done. She also understood that the puppy really just wants to cuddle even though he's about 80 lb and pretty needy lol. Thank you again Danielle. I truly appreciate you! I will make sure that you see them again at some point. They were super happy and seem to have enjoyed their time with you. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ❤️
