Bailey's Buds Pet-Sitting

Pet care experience

Keep your pet comfortable in their own environment while you are away. Most pets are happier and more relaxed when they are able to stay in their home environment while their owners are away. By offering pet sitting services in your own home, your pet will be able to maintain a semblance of normalcy even though their normal routine and "world" has changed, albeit temporarily. Your pet can maintain a somewhat normal schedule, as changes in their usual routine can be upsetting and stressful. Some dogs are just fine staying at another location (like a kennel) but many other dogs do not handle the stress of the kennel environment well due to large number of strange animals, people, sounds, and smells. I have owned and cared for a variety of animal species for most of my life. I have been a cat owner since I was 3 years old and have had multiple small pets throughout the years, including hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, fish (salt & freshwater) and parrots (both small and large). Growing up, I did have the opportunity to watch cats and dogs of neighbors while they were out of town (in my teens). I would not be opposed to caring for reptiles, as long as you understand that I have not owned reptiles before. Due to my interest in exotic animal medicine, I am aware that reptiles have very distinct needs that are different from other small, caged pets. If you are comfortable explaining the normal routine care of your individual reptile species, then comfortable with that knowledge to leave your reptile in my care, I would be happy to watch your pet. I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician since January 2004. I have worked in vet clinics for 12 years. I am very experienced in all aspects of dog/cat care, including post surgical and senior pets. I have extensive experience administering medications and knowledge of what medications are used for what purpose, so you can rest assured your special-needs will have excellent care. While you are away, your pet will have personalized, loving care. Many accommodations can be made to make your pet as comfortable and stress-free as possible while you are unable to care for them for any reason. I can make as many trips to your home as needed throughout the day. A minimum of 1-2 daily visits are recommended for cats and 2-4 daily visits are recommended for dogs. These are just guidelines and can be adjusted depending on your situation.
