I've had a dog and a cat at minimum my whole life! Recently, I've been pet sitting and caring for my friend's new puppy. I also recently fostered two young kittens for almost a year while living in a home with another cat and older dog. I currently work part time with a flexible schedule. I have a lot of free time during the work week as well as Saturday evening to all day Sunday free. I have a lot of space in my apartment for pets to be able to wander as well as a fenced balcony. I can supply kitty litter and litter box if needed for any cats. I also have a fenced in dog area where I live to be able to let any dogs wander easily. Ideally, I would take any dogs on walks at one of my three nearby parks. I have direct access to my apartment door so there would be little to zero interaction with any of my neighbors' pets, if that's a concern.
