Greyhound Sitter, Your Home or Mine

Pet care experience

Experienced greyhound owner of 4 years, lifetime dog owner. Previously owned small animals (hamsters, fish) and watched cats. I will care for your pet like family! Happy to care for your small caged pets as well! If they are mobile, I can watch in my home. My dog is unphased by small critters, so they will be safe.

Dani and Zeke were amazing! My dogs were in caring hands and had a great time playing and snuggling up to Zeke (which he tolerated reluctantly- what’s a handsome boy to do!). Dani sent me adorable pictures of my pups while I was away and left my house super neat and clean. Highly recommend!

Danielle was great! She was easy to communicate with and provided thorough updates with plenty of pictures while we were away. This made me feel comfortable that our cats were in good hands and well taken care of. I’ll be reaching out again when needing a pet sitter. Thanks Danielle!

Danielle was accommodating and flexible with a last-minute booking and showed the utmost respect for my cat and my home. She sent detailed updates and photos so that I could relax knowing he was being well cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend Danielle or use her services again in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

I am certified in Dog/Cat CPR and First Aid, and I carry first aid supplies. If we don't already know you and your dog, for boarding or in-home visits, a meet and greet is required first to determine our dogs are comfortable with each other. This also lets you get to know us, and if we're coming to your home, you can show me anything special I need to know to give your dog the best care. I require muzzles for initial meetings and for off-leash play, out of an abundance of caution. If I'm coming for a walk or a drop-in, I do not require a meeting with both dogs, unless you would like a group walk. IMPORTANT: I also require you do not give your pet any peanut butter or peanut treats for 24 hours before seeing me, as I have a severe allergy. I will not be able to administer medications using peanut butter or give them peanut butter treats.

Please mention any special needs or behavioral quirks your dog has so I can provide the best experience for them. I want to make sure you are both happy with the experience.

A typical day

For drop-in visits, I will follow your instructions for feeding, etc. I like to try to keep your pet's routine as close to normal if they have one, to minimize any anxiety they might have about you being away. For boarding/house sitting, depending on your dog's likes and needs, at least 2 long walks and 1 short walk per day, along with breaks for play and pets, if they like. We will explore your neighborhood or go to a local park. With your permission, and if they fit in my car, we can take a drive to a park farther away.

Availability

I work from home most days, with my 4 year old greyhound by my side. We can accommodate the occasional daytime visitor or overnight weekend visitor, as long as my dog approves (usually only other sighthounds). I can also come to your home for the day or overnight, as long as you have wifi. For longer overnight stays, your home is preferred. I can do drop in local visits in evenings/weekends. We have multiple dog beds.
