Cat mom home full time this summer
Pet care experience
I am working part time this summer and looking to spend time hanging with some furry friends. I love going on nice long walks with dogs and playing with cats for as long as they will allow it. I’ve had my cat for almost nine years now and grew up with dogs. I had a dog of my own as well and raised her as a puppy. Having worked as a teacher for 8 years, I also have built up quite a bit of patience. My experience with kids also makes me very cognizant of making sure I provide a safe and loving environment for any and all pets.

I have a cay of my own at home who is unfortunately not great with dogs or other cats, so I will not be able to care for other pets in my home. I am happy to provide drop in visits, walks, or overnight stays.

I like to know what to expect with dog behaviors on walks and around other dogs. It’s also nice to know if they have toy, treat, or leash preferences. Eating and bathroom routines are also good to know.
A typical day
When I care for dogs, I am sure to follow instructions from their owners regarding their regular routines. On walks, I tend to prefer a shorter leash and give dogs lots of praise and occasional treats for good leash behavior. For dogs with high energy, I love to find a field where they can really run and play some high quality fetch. At home, I’ll always make sure to check on food and water consumption and ensure they have enough bathroom breaks. With cats, I will of course follow their regular routines as well and try to make sure they have some stimulation (if they are brave enough to say hi to the stranger in their house). My cat loves to play fetch, but I am happy to get on the ground and toss a toy around with a kitty for some playtime. I use a litter robot at home and am familiar with how they work. I am a also used to traditional litter boxes as well and will scoop as needed.

I’m currently working part time and will have plenty of time to play with your fur babies. With my current schedule, I am available midday Monday-Friday, and weekends as requested. I am also open to overnight stays.
