Pet care experience
I’m new to Rover, but not to pets! I grew up with cats as pets, and as an adult, I’ve had small dogs for over 15 years. My last dog had a chronic illness for years, so I also have experience taking care of senior dogs with special health needs. I love having a dog to walk and cuddle, but my once a week 12+ hour clinical day prevents me getting another dog right now, and as that’s a normal shift for a nurse, it may be a long time before I can get another pet. But, my tricky schedule is your gain! On the days I’m home with nothing to do but study, I would love to give your dog the snuggles and attention I would give my own :) I can’t host cats in my home as it turns out I’m allergic, but I still love them and can handle drop-in visits for cats/in homes that have cats.
Reviews
Danielle was a great sitter for our dog Maverick! She provided daily updates and pictures of their activities together which we really appreciated. Would definitely recommend her and hire her again!
Danielle is intuitive with pet's needs, they trust her. Degreed and health care educated, she is caring, intelligent, organized, dependable, hard working, punctual. 5⭐️'s! Highly recommend!

In general: I am dependable and respectful. I am detail-oriented and follow directions well. My last dog had very detailed needs and restrictions that could seriously impact his health, so I understand the importance of adhering to any needs/restrictions/schedule your dog may require. I put everything in my calendar to keep myself on schedule and punctual. I am happy to give you timely status updates and photos via text/chat so you can be reassured that your dog is being well cared for. At my home: I live in a condo that I own, and my home is still set up for my last dog. I have baby gates on both of my staircases to keep dogs on my main floor, where I can keep an eye on them. My plants are pet-safe and mostly out of reach of pets in hanging planters. My trash can is also at least pet-resistant with a foot pedal lid, and I keep food and other items that pets might find interesting in cabinets behind doors, plastic containers, and/or on shelves out of reach. My condo complex has an unfenced pet area we can visit for quick potty breaks (leashes required), and I also have my own small unfenced deck and garden with an anchored lead if we hang out there. I live in an area that’s also great for longer walks (1-3 miles, walking or jogging), especially when the weather cooperates. At your home: I treat your home the way I’d want mine treated. Unless otherwise indicated (by you, the homeowner), I assume that at the front door, shoes come off and dogs paws are wiped if they are wet or dirty; I clean up any mess I make (or witness your pet make), and in general, I try to leave places at least in the condition I found them if not better.

Information Danielle H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if you pet has any special needs or behaviors, is a female in heat, is unspayed/unneutered, etc. These are not deal-breakers, but I need to know to make sure I can accommodate those situations. Dogs staying in my home must be housebroken, though I can accommodate potty breaks up to every 2-4 hours during the day, but they need to be able to go a full 8 hours at night if boarded. Just ask if you have any questions, and tell me whatever you think I need to know :)
A typical day
At my home, your pet will get one long walk minimum (15-30 min, walking or jogging, depending on weather and pet tolerance), and as many short walks as they need for potty breaks. All walks will be leashed. I will also give them multiple short play sessions throughout the day, and they are also free to run around my main floor or cuddle with me on the couch.

Availability
I’m currently changing careers and am in nursing school full time, so I’m in school or at the hospital around 25 hours per week. The rest of my time I’m pretty much just studying at home. My availability really depends on your pet’s needs. The days I’ve marked available for dog boarding, I am home all day (barring the occasional errand, etc.). Please reach out if you have any questions; I’m happy to provide more details!
