As a kid, I would offer to walk my neighbor’s dogs for free because my family didn’t have one. At age 10, years of begging paid off and we brought home a Maltese Shit-Tzu puppy, Sammy, who has taught me so much about the care that goes into a pet. Now as a college student, I often babysit for friends and roommates who have dogs, and occasionally take my professor’s dog off her hands when I need to spend time with a pup!
