As a former foster home for homeless dogs waiting to be adopted (no longer fostering), we offer lots of experience with all ages, sizes and personalities of dogs as well as managing multiple dogs. Because the former resident dog was a 16 ½ year old German Shepherd Dog (passed away August 2017) our clients are older and calmer adults. The new resident dog as of September 2017, a 4-year-old husky/cattle dog mix, does great with the seniors and gets along well with other dogs. To accommodate our established, more mature clients, we will still only take older, calmer adult dogs. There is a fenced yard and a deck to lounge on (only under supervision - dogs are never left outside alone). Guest dogs are treated like family. There are never any extra charges - the nightly boarding rate covers walks, administering medication, play time, feeding the food you supply, brushing and belly rubs. Whatever your dog needs while here, your dog gets when your dog needs it. We maintain a daily blog with lots of pictures and videos so you can check at your convenience to see how your dog is doing. Dogs need to be used to being left alone for 4-5 hours at a time and are always separated when left alone, either in a baby gated room or in a dog crate, wherever they feel most comfortable. Guest dogs must be known to get along with other dogs. People often want to make reservations not knowing if their dog is good with other dogs or not. We regret that we aren’t able to take a chance on figuring that out with other’s dogs staying here. A meet-n-greet is required so we can see if the dogs are all compatible and for you to see where your dog would be staying. Please be sure your dog is current on flea treatment for both the meet-n-greet and during the stay. We regret we can make no exceptions to this policy for the sake of the resident dog as well as other guest dogs. Kindly include your drop off and pick up times in your inquiry as this factors into our availability. PLEASE NOTE: Because rates are charged by overnights, a $25 additional day care rate will apply for morning drop offs with evening pickups for stays shorter than 5 nights. One-night stays are only considered on a last minute basis (no more than a week in advance) depending on availability. We are located just 1 mile from Garden State Parkway exit 135 (Clark/Westfield).
