Please do not leave your dog in Daniel's care. We cannot warn you enough. Daniel left our dog alone, unfed and without any potty breaks for 20 hours. He let us know he works unusual hours as a baker, but promised he would take her out in the early morning hours before his shift so that she would have a potty break and get breakfast. Instead, he left her alone from 5 pm until 1 pm the next day. It was truly heartbreaking to know our dog was hungry, alone, confused, and peeing herself (because no dog can hold it for 20 hours). We only found out he left her alone for this long because our door lock notifies us when it opens and closes. When we noticed there hadn't been any activity on the door since 5 pm, I asked him if he had taken her out in the early morning before work (as he promised), he said no because "she wouldn't have wanted to go out." The assumption that our dog didn't need a potty break for 20 hours was inhumane. When I let him know that she had likely pee-ed and pooped herself and was probably very hungry and scared, he minimized our feelings by saying, "I promise you she is fine. Low maintenance dogs like yours spend most of their time sleeping and do excellent on their own." Of course, she was not fine. Our family was able to rush over after he returned the keys at 1 pm, and they saw that she had accidents in multiple locations near the door. We've always had good experiences with Rover before and were truly appalled by this inhumane, dismissive treatment of our dog. Our family was able to take her to a doggy daycare, so she ended up being safe, fed, and not scared, but we cannot warn you enough to not trust your dog in Daniel's care.

Daniel was awesome. He housesat with our Airedale for 10 days. We had to check security footage to verify he had been here because he left no trace. All we found when we came home was a peaceful dog who was happy to see us but not desperate. She was obviously fine, healthy, and well cared for. Daniel sent us near daily photos of Tip in various states of rest, play, and walks. She had a new way of playing with one of her toys, so I could tell he had played with her. I would definitely hire him again, and hope he doesn't move on to another kind of gig before our vacation next year. When Daniel first came to the house, our aloof dog immediately took to him, and I can tell that didn't change because of how peaceful she was when we returned. And I really appreciated that he didn't leave any kind of mess, had obviously taken the garbage out, etc. Tons of gratitude to Daniel for giving me the confidence to enjoy our vacation.
