Owners of 2 cats for 12 years; Daughter's Hillshire terrier (Molly) lived/cared for by us for 3 years; regularly dog sit for two family dogs - Molly and Miniature female French poodle mix (Jojo). We are both retired, so are able to watch the dogs play in the fenced-in backyard and to take on walks on side walks, street and paths - depending on the dog & weather. Quiet neighborhood and fence-in back yard has only 1 neighbor. Fenced-in backyard is dog friendly with squirrels to chase, and various other animals to see/smell and gives the dogs plenty of running room. Walks around the block can vary from 1/2 mile to 2 miles depending on dog endurance. Plenty of other dogs in the neighborhood, so no issue with neighbors and all are careful avoid other dog walkers in case any are potentially aggressive (even their own) dogs. Both my wife and I are retired so there is no work schedule to work around. The resposibility to take dog walks is an additonal incentive for use to get in our own walking exercise. My wife & I both grew up with pet dogs and enjoy their company. I am a "your dog(s) only" hosting location. Meaning I have no kids, no pets, and no other dogs/cats during your visit. My daughter and partner regularly dog sit and are always available to provide advice, as needed. I have a fenced-in backyard with no pets surrounding the yard. If your dog naturally prefers spending time with women or men, one of us becomes the go to friend. We care for our guests as if they are a member of the family. This means we strictly adhere to all owner requests during a visit. All walks and time outside are on leash (no exceptions). The more you tell us about your dog(s) the better we can ensure a positive visit. Walking, feeding, and medication administration happen daily on schedule. The house is generally quite, no children for dogs to compete for attention with, and hardwood floors for any accidents. We have an unfenced private backyard and very close to nearby parks. I carry water on walks for warm temperatures or dogs that commonly overheat. We genuinely enjoy spending time with and ensuring dogs are happy and healthy via exercise, play, and one on one attention. We are retired and almost aways available. The pets fill a void and provide great companionship. Dog walking gives us added incentive to get up and walk outselves. We may except 2 dogs from the same household so they can stay and play together. We have a goood sized fenced back yard so it easy to allow the dog to fun and play catch & fetch. We request the owner provide a crate for sleeping, but daily the dog has freedom of movement through the downstairs area of our house,where we spend most of out time. "Lap-sized" dogs are permitted on out couch where they can nap and will usually get petted and a belly rub.
