This was a truly horrible experience, and I will likely never book through any dog sitter/boarding service again. Daniel was available on short notice. I was able to drop off my dog on a Friday afternoon. He asked to meet in the parking garage of his apartment, and was hesitant in allowing me to follow him up to his apartment as I was dropping off my dog. He did allow for me to go to his apartment because I was leaving my dog with her bed, food, food/water bowls, and treats, and his hands were full. Daniel was very communicative with me Friday and Saturday. He sent three pictures of my dog with her treat, taking a walk, and laying on his couch. Per our booking, I would be picking up my dog between 11am-1pm on Sunday. I tried texting Daniel around 10:30 to let him know I was on the way, but my iPhone indicated my message couldn't be delivered. After I arrived at 11, I tried calling Daniel. The call went straight to an automated message that the number was not in service. I called and received the same message, over and over again. After contacting the local police and Rover Help Support, I was given his emergency contact/roommate's phone number. I called the contact, who at first acted like he didn't know who I was talking about. He then confirmed he knew who I was talking about, said he would try to call him, and ask him to call me back. I didn't hear anything back, so I called the Rover Help Support again, who then reached out to Daniel and the emergency contact. A few minutes later, the emergency contact called me back, said they were actually there with my dog, and I could come get her now. I was uncomfortable at this point in walking up to the apartment by myself and asked him to bring my dog and her belongings to me, in the parking garage. He brought her down a few minutes later and said he didn't know what was going on with Daniel or his phone, maybe it was some emergency, and he hoped he was OK. After spending an hour trying to get my dog back, I was tired and just happy to have her back, so we just left. Almost an hour later, I received a text from Daniel that he had "gone back to sleep and dozed off." I'm not sure what was really going on, but I feel I was very close to losing my dog. I'm not sure why Daniel would be sleeping when he knew I would be coming to pick up my dog at that time, and I'm not sure how he could be sleeping and his roommate not notice and then give some story about there being some emergency, and I believe the automated message I received when calling means my number had been blocked from contacting him. I am also having to purchase new food/water bowls and a new dog harness because these were not returned to me when I picked up my dog. I am not at all happy with this service.

Danny was wonderful! He came over before our trip and met with us and our fur baby. You can tell he really loves animals and takes dog sitting very seriously by his thoughtful questions. He gave us pictures and updates each day which really put us at ease during our trip. We will definitely use him again and I would recommend him to anyone.
