13 Years Loving Our GSD
We are a loving family home offering a safe, caring and calm environment for your pets while you’re away. As a family, animals have always been a huge part of our lives. Our 11-year-old son absolutely adores both cats and dogs and has grown up around them with kindness, gentleness and respect. For 13 wonderful years, we were devoted owners to our beloved German Shepherd, who we raised from just 8 weeks old. She was truly part of our family through every stage of life, and saying goodbye to her in April 2025 was heartbreaking. That experience taught us not only the joy pets bring, but also the patience, commitment and unconditional love they deserve throughout their entire lives. Although we are not quite ready to welcome another pet of our own yet, our home feels empty without furry companionship. That’s why we would love to help other families by caring for their pets as if they were our own. We understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet when going away, and how important it is to know they are safe, loved, exercised, cuddled and genuinely cared for. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or simply wants a quiet sofa cuddle and reassurance, we will make sure they feel secure, happy and part of the family during their stay. Your pet won’t just be “looked after” here — they’ll be loved.

Daniel and his family were amazing every time we had them look after our two dogs while they were visiting in the US. Different care for both our different aged dogs, giving them each the type of care they need. Plenty of walks and a lot of play time! Our dogs are truly in good hands with Daniel and our mind is at easy knowing they are in safe hands.

Schedule
Every dog is different, and we believe the best care starts with listening to you. We understand that younger dogs may need lots of exercise, play and stimulation, while older dogs often prefer gentler walks, routine and plenty of comfort and companionship. We will always follow your dog’s usual schedule and needs as closely as possible so they feel happy, settled and secure while you’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks in the park, energetic playtime, games and attention, or simply relaxing with company and cuddles, we are happy to adapt to what suits them best. For extended stays, and if you are comfortable with it, my office in Angel is dog friendly, meaning your dog could spend even more time with us during the day rather than being left at home. We can either drive into Angel or, if your dog enjoys it, commute together on public transport (our preferred option). Both near our home and around my office there are plenty of green spaces for walks, play, stimulation and quiet time to rest. Our aim is to make your dog feel completely at home, cared for and loved as part of the family.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always be our top priority. We live in a spacious four-bedroom semi-detached family home with a fully fenced and secure garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to explore, play and relax. Inside, our downstairs living area is completely open plan, meaning your dog will never feel shut away or isolated and can always be close to family life and companionship. We understand how important routine, reassurance and a calm environment are when dogs are away from home, so we aim to create a relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere where they can quickly feel safe and settled. Equally, if your dog prefers their own quiet space to rest and recharge, there is plenty of room throughout the house for them to do so comfortably. Having cared for our own German Shepherd for 13 years, we fully understand the responsibility and trust involved in looking after someone’s beloved pet. We know dogs are family, and we will care for yours with the same patience, affection and attention we would expect for our own. We are very happy to provide regular updates, including photos and WhatsApp videos, so you can see how your dog is getting on and feel reassured while you are away. We can also arrange video calls if you’d like to check in directly. When we go away on family holidays ourselves, we really value receiving regular updates, so we understand just how important that peace of mind is. We are attentive to each dog’s individual needs, personalities and boundaries, and we will always keep communication open so you feel fully connected to your pet’s stay with us.
A typical day
A typical day is built around keeping pets happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine. Mornings usually start with feeding, fresh water, and a good walk or play session to get their energy out. Throughout the day, there are plenty of regular potty breaks, enrichment activities, and plenty of attention so they feel safe and engaged while their owner is away. We make sure any specific instructions are followed carefully—whether that’s medication, special diets, or preferred walking times. Evenings wind down with another walk, dinner, and some calm time so they can settle in comfortably for the night. We always aim to make it feel like a second home, with consistent care and lots of affection.

- It’s important to know each pet’s daily routine, including feeding times, portion sizes, walk schedule, and any medications. We also like to be aware of their temperament—how they behave around new people, other dogs, or in different environments. Any triggers, fears (like loud noises), or separation anxiety is helpful to know in advance so we can make them feel as comfortable as possible. It’s also useful to know their recall habits, leash behavior, and any training cues they respond to. Finally, emergency contact details, vet information, and any health conditions or dietary restrictions are essential so we can provide safe, attentive care at all times.
