Pawsome Pet Care Tail Wags Included

Pet care experience

I have 10+ years of care taking for animals of all sorts. Growing up my family started with two small dogs and then expanded our family to include a small farm in the suburbs of New England. My parents have goats, horses, chickens, pigs, ducks, dogs and cats; I even adopted a pet mouse when I moved out of my parents apartment just to have a furry companion in my house. Throughout my high school and college career I worked as a Kennel Attendant for my family's small business. I learned all of my tips and tricks from hands on experience with dogs and cats of all different breeds, shapes and sizes. As much as I loved this job, I needed to spread my wings and move somewhere warmer. Currently, I live on the East Side of Long Beach with my partner and our two lovely cats Parker and Wizard. Both are easy going guys just looking for some attention and snacks. I have experience with puppies, puppy training, dogs with special needs (wheel chair, multiple medications, topical medications, etc.) as well as experience matching dogs in play groups based off of their personalities. While working as a kennel attendant I would often fill in for the dog bather/groomer which trained me to trim nails, and brush teeth or fur.

Daniel was lovely with our cat Ned! He was super responsive and very easy to do initial booking/pre-sitting visit, was very comfortable and easy going about Ned’s care, and was very good about giving daily updates, playing and socializing, and keeping Ned’s essentials full, clean and cared for while we were away. We’ll happily ask him back in the future!!

Daniel was awesome! I was in desperate need of a last minute pet sitter for my two cats during the week of Christmas and they were exactly who I was looking for. Daniel came every day to feed my cats, was able to empty and reset my litter robot as needed, and sent me photo updates every day while I was away. I will definitely be reaching out again the next time I need a pet sitter while I’m out of town, and I highly recommend Daniel to anyone else looking for pet care.

Daniel has watched Blitz for me a few times now and they take such great care of him. He is a very needy boy and loves getting pets and cuddles from Daniel.

I have private insurance through Pet Care Insurance (PCI) that covers more than just the Rover Guarantee. I'd be happy to give you more information on what the policy covers upon request. I am a very flexible person and can accommodate almost any schedule or routine that your pet has. Walks: I am more than happy to walk your dog around your neighborhood or to a drop off location (daycare, groomers, etc.) as long as it's within a reasonable distance. If possible, I will typically clip the leash to my belt so that I can walk hands free and have more control. I am open to walking multiple dogs at once. Drop-in Visits: I would love to check in on your beloved pup while you are away! I can feed, water, play with, walk, exercise etc. Please give me specific instructions on how to care for your pet as well as where their supplies is located. House Sitting: I would love to watch your house and pets while you are away! I have similar expectations as drop-ins however, I am unable to stay overnight in your home. I am more than happy to spend the day time, for example 7-2 or 8-12, or I could do multiple drop-ins while you are away. Whatever is you prefer is fine with me!

Information Daniel F. would like to know about your pet

Please keep in mind upon inquiry that the estimated rates may vary depending on specific needs or Rover miscalculations. I will always make sure that Rover does not overcharge you. Rover service fees apply. Getting to know your dogs on a personal level is an essential part of providing the best care possible. Your furry companions are unique individuals with distinct personalities, preferences, and needs. To ensure that our time together is enjoyable and safe for everyone, there are a few key pieces of information that would greatly assist me in tailoring my care: 1. Schedule/Routine: How do you usually walk/take care of your pet? What are your expectations of me while walking/taking care of your pet? What types of behaviors do you want to encourage/discourage while your pet is in my care? 2. Medications and Medical History: Does your pet take any medication? How do you administer it and where is it stored? Does your pet have any medical conditions that are important for me to know? Does this particular breed of pet have any conditions that I should know about? ie. heat exposure, ear infections etc. 3. Vet information: Where is the closest emergency room vet to your home? Where does your dog typically go to the vet? 4. Emergency Contacts: If you are staying out of town or will be too far to make decisions for your pet if something were to happen, I require two emergency contacts in the area that will able to make the best decision for your babies. Safety is my number one priority and this just ensures that I have a reachable contact to help me if something were to happen. 5. Behavior/Personality: How would you describe your pet? Is your pet unfriendly to strangers or a specific types of people? Does your dog have little quirks I should know about or favorite spots that they like to walk? If you think it's important, it probably is! Open and honest communication about your pet's needs, behaviors, and preferences empowers me to provide personalized and attentive care. My experience with challenging dogs has taught me the value of clear information, and I'm dedicated to creating a safe, enjoyable, and fulfilling experience for both you and your beloved canine companion.

A typical day

Creating a world of excitement and happiness for the dogs I watch is a promise I hold close to my heart. With a deep understanding of their energetic nature, I'm dedicated to offering a blend of engaging activities that stimulate both their minds and bodies. 1. Energetic Playtime: Tireless fun is at the heart of our time together. Whether it's a spirited game of fetch, a playful tug-of-war, or a thrilling game of chase, I'll tailor our play sessions to match each dog's energy level and preferences. 2. Mind-Stimulating Adventures: I firmly believe in the power of mental stimulation. During our walks, I encourage dogs to explore and sniff to their heart's content. Every scent holds a world of intrigue, and I'll be right there, allowing them to uncover new scents and enjoy the sensory journey. 3. Enriching Puzzle Challenges: Puzzles and interactive toys are fantastic for engaging their minds. I'll introduce them to toys that require problem-solving and creativity, providing a satisfying mental workout that complements their physical activities. 4. Park Excursions: Visiting the nearest park is a joyful staple in our routine. Wide open spaces offer ample opportunities for thrilling games of fetch, as well as social interactions with other dogs, enriching their social skills and fostering a sense of camaraderie. 5. Tailored Adventures: Beyond the park, I'll explore special places that cater to the individual preferences of each dog. Whether it's a leisurely stroll by a serene lake, a romp through a nature trail, or an invigorating walk in a bustling urban setting, I'm committed to curating walks that match their unique personalities. 6. Bonding and Affection: Amidst all the excitement, moments of affection and bonding are crucial. I'll take the time to connect on a personal level, offering pets, belly rubs, and soothing conversations to reassure your furry friend that they're in safe and caring hands. Ultimately, my goal is to create an enriching and dynamic experience for the dogs I watch, blending vigorous physical activity with thoughtful mental engagement. Every walk and playtime will be a delightful adventure, fostering a sense of happiness, fulfillment, and connection that lingers long after our time together. I want to get to know your pet and make a long term connection!

As I said earlier, I recently moved from East Coast to West Coast and while I'm still deciding my more permanent career, I am working full time as a pet sitter. I have a really flexible schedule at the moment and I'm willing to work with you to ensure your babies have good care. I also understand that life happens, but require at least 24 hours notice for a cancellation. Unfortunately my cats are very needy and I'm unable to stay in your home over night for house sitting. I am available for more frequent drop-ins or day time house sitting only.
